His Holiness The Dalai lama has visited Australia twice in the most of recent times on public visits in which I had seen him. I was originally born into a Roman Catholic tradition through family structures. At the time I had no idea of Buddhism, now I see the great influence and the flow of spiritual energy in my life. This has been a trend that I have accepted as is called the dharma or philosophy into my life as it speaks a language that makes good sense. As I believe in Reincarnation, the topic was brought forward as kharma and destiny where one lives a good life for yourself and others, bringing in the light and love to share with each other.
I recall the first meeting as we saw many monks and His Holiness were on stage and as tickets to the event were free it was easier on the pocket. At the time there was a language problem so one of the senior Monks translated into english to the audience what the message was. When the talks concluded it left us with some worth while knowledge. As the Monks began to file out in single file I was quite close to them and was overcome by the sheer spiritual energy that transferred to me, it was so strong that it felt like I was going to fall down and rendering me speechless. I purchased books outside from the marketing stalls, as well as other odds and ends. I had earlier ordered audio tapes through a Tibet movement some weeks earlier. They had contacted me by phone and told me that the tapes were of not a good quality and would refund the money I paid. I was impressed with thier attitude and manner.
The next time I had the opportunity to see His Holiness The Dalai Lama was at a football ground with plenty of room for his followers. We bathed in the sunshine as he spoke freely with confidence. He also spoke on world events as well as answering questions from the youngest visitors to the ground. It was a day enjoyed by all. His Holiness was taken by car to his next port of call as he waved to those lucky enough to catch a glimpse up close.

Those sound like experiences to remember. It is good that you have found something which has given you so much spiritual contentment.

Do you know what?… Buddhism is the only religion that makes sense to me, not in what they are following but in the way of the life, what they are practicing. If I were religious this would be what I would follow, I am half way there already, I haven’t eaten meat for 31years and I love yoga and meditation. Brilliant article, I really enjoyed reading about your experiences. Maybe I have reached a point in my life where this would help me develop more as a person, have some guidance. Maybe one day we will talk about this more x thanks for sharing.
