Many Christians are afraid of owning a Christmas tree due to the verse in Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 10
3 For the customs of the peoples are worthless;
they cut a tree out of the forest,
and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
4 They adorn it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails
so it will not totter.
That verse in Jeremiah is in regards to druidism being practiced. The hanging of silver and gold ornaments to false gods to have their prayers answered, and gifts given to them. This can also be viewed as a spiritual connection to the serpent in the tree in Genesis. The soul inside the tree was a serpent, a fallen Angel of God. The tree was the actual fallen Angel, this I learned from another Christian.
It makes perfect sense, since satan believed he was a god, and druids believe a God is within the tree. All connected to the first passages of Genesis. My family does have a Christmas tree; it is a reusable plastic tree that is used over and over again. I choose to decorate it to glorify God. I use a star at the top of it to symbolize the birth of Jesus in the manger. I hang nativity scenes, angels, crosses and gold stars to reflect the love of Jesus and the creation of man by God.
Cutting down an actual living and breathing tree, is not environmental, nor is it an organic choice. Should you decide to have a tree this year to glorify God, consider using one that can be used again, instead of one thrown out a few days later. Choose lighting that uses less energy, and only turn the lights on in the evening for a limited time to enjoy with family and friends. If you are not in the room, do not have it plugged in using energy that is only being wasted.
Choose decorations that glorify God, and get creative with organic and green decorations such as popcorn, or dried fruit. Another creative organic idea is hanging up food that can be eaten, or small gifts that will be given to someone to be used. Try second hand stores for recycled Christian objects to hang. Ask your children to cut out snowflakes out of recycled paper, or old magazines.
As a Christian, I know I do not hang ornaments on my tree to other false gods. I hang the ornaments to be festive and give glory to God. Remember we have grace when properly used. I find many Christians are leading unhappy lives due to the verse in Jeremiah that is not being properly understood as far as why they hung the ornaments.
Enjoy a great Christmas, and put up that tree to glorify God, and do not worry that you will burn in hell if you do. It is not a healthy Christian life, to turn everything as pretty as enjoying eco lights on a tree, which is going to be reused, looking at nativity scenes, as hell bound or lake of fire. Choose to rely on Gods grace and love, and the heart behind the matter of what you put on that tree and why.

and zara I have seen many Christians compare the tree to what Jeremiah said..many,
the plastic tree can last about 20 years roughly if you take care of it, then it can be remade into something else
