Dear readers,

Many people often ask me ” If God is sovereign, why is there starvation, suffering, and death” my answer to that question is this. Mankind through Adam’s sin, became separated from God.  As for the starving people, Jesus told us to help the poor, the widowed etc, the reason that there is still so many out there is because many people have failed to follow that command. We cannot blame God for our failure to obey His commands. Suffering, from the very outset, man brought on ourselves (beginning as stated, with Adam.)

We need to start behaving in accordance with God’s will. WE need to go out and help the starving and the widowed and the suffering and the poor. If people would follow God’s commands in the first place, there’d be a lot less suffering.

I am tired of people who say “several people starved last night, where was your God?” They fail to comprehend that when Jesus said “Love your neighbor as yourself” He was placing responsibility on us to Help our fellow man/woman and to share His Love through our actions.

If we have failed to follow through with what God commanded us, then that is OUR failure. Much like if your boss at work tells you to do something and you fail to do it, you would not/could not blame your boss, because he put the responsibility on you.

Thanks for reading,

God Bless.

The irony is many of those complaining about the suffering in the world contribute absolutely nothing to relieving it.
We need a lot less talk and A LOT more action.
Food for thought All, God Bless

I could easily blame my boss if he was putting the burden on me when it was really his responsibility but he was just being lazy. Or alternatively if my boss was all powerful and could easily do the job himself but instead decided that he was going to let someone starve to death just so he could prove a point. Remember John bad metaphors make baby jesus cry.

Mr. Mullen, the metaphor was fine, the day you get up off your duff and send food and medical supplies to Zimbabwe to feed and help the needy there, feel free to speak your mind, till then you have no room to complain, read Robert’s statement above,We live in a fallen world Jamie, that is why there is suffering,we are accountable for our actions (or lack of action) suffering is tragic yes but honestly if people in countries like America would be less self absorbed and more giving, we’d have less suffering in the rest of this planet.

First of all Mark you have absolutely no idea of what my current charitable activities are. Secondly I assume because you are allowed an opinion you are currently working in Sub-saharan Africa as an aid worker otherwise you would appear to be a hypocrite.
But all of that is beside the point no one here is arguing that the world would not be a better place if everyone was more kind and generous because it would. I am arguing that an omni benevolant all powerful being is could not be blameless in a world with suffering. Sure he could be angry with us for not being more benevolant but at the end of the day the more power you have to stop something the more responsible you are for doing nothing and if god is willing to let people die just to prove a point then he sure does not sound omni benevolant to me.

    Dear Jamie,

We have a responsiblity to our fellow human being, God is not lazy, he has simply given us instructions if we follow the instruction to Love our neighbor as ourself,(this includes helping the poor and widowed etc.)there would be less suffering.

We don’t know your current charitable activities that’s true, but Mark’s point and my general point were the same.

God told US to Love one another, there needs to be less talk/complaining on our part and more action. If people spent half as much time working to help others as we do complaining, we could relieve a ton of suffering in a short time….

    take care
