Matthew 13:3
“…Behold, a sower went forth to sow;”
Last night was Trick-or-Treat in my neck of the woods. As you probably guessed from the article I wrote a couple of weeks ago, I gave out tracts (pictured and linked above) with candy this year.
I got started a little late since I had Papaw-duty so I missed out on some kids. But despite missing some, I gave out 133 million dollar bill tracts last night. I had a great time and they were well received by all the kids and most of the parents: Two seemed to be, perhaps, “miffed” by them (and one told me what a great idea it was to do that).
Anyway, I ask that today and this weekend when you think of it, remember those seeds that were sowed, the kids and parents that will read them (especially the two that were less than exuberant about them) in your prayers. God can do mighty works through a seed and prayer.
Last night alone three people used the Tiny URL (tiny.cc/gub) I wrote on each million to visit out church website (we are talking about less than 6 hours total time). That is proof, to me, that He is already working on hearts
.
If you didn’t have time to try this idea out this year (2009), next year make a note, take the extra time to prepare and give it a try. The plowing will be worth the sowing and the reaping of joy and possible harvest are reward enough to do it, in my mind at least.
Matthew 13:3-8
3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
