O life, real life –
Is it of you I sing?
O death, real death –
Are you able to sting?
O heart, my heart –
Are you old or new?
O soul, my soul –
Whose are you?
O rock, The Rock –
Are You my stand?
O feet, my feet –
Are you still on sand?
O will, my will –
Are you unbroken?
O mouth, my mouth –
Have you misspoken?
O faith, my faith –
What kind are you?
O god, my god –
Are you true?
O mind, my mind –
Do you conform?
O self, myself –
Are you still dead or new born?
Thoughts too dire, my heart will melt!
Of what am I sure – just feelings felt?
There must be more – but have I heard?
Am I growing desperate for the Living Word?
