Are You Willing to be Low to be High?

In order to be high we must be willing to be low.

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time” (1 Pet. 5:6). New Living Translation

Humble:Not proud or haughty : not arrogant or assertive Webster’s Dictionary

Are you willing to be low to be high? Are you willing to serve others as a act of devotion unto God?

For example, when I was a volunteer in a hospital it was done as a service unto God. Many enriching and fulfilling experiences were blessed upon me there.

Are you willing to say:” Not my will Lord, but Thy will be done.”

For example: I wanted to serve the Lord in Central America and He wanted me to come to China. Although it was a difficult decision and great leap of faith the request (God never COMMANDS us to do anything. He asks us. If we obey, then we receive His blessings. If we do not obey we do not receive His blessings. Sounds simple huh?). Even though it has been difficult and indeed at times very dangerous, the experience has been very enriching and has brought me closer to Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Spirit than ever could have been imagined.

Are you willing to put the concern and welfare of others above your own desires as an act of devotion to God?

For example: One time after teaching a class some students wanted to talk about some of lifes problems. I was very tired and wanted to lay down for a nap. Instead my love for and concern for them caused me to surrender my will for their good. A short time later they came up to me and asked for a Bible. Some weeks after that they shared with me they had given their lives to Jesus. When we do incorporate the things into our daily lives we are living the way Christ intended us to. Every time we do these things the angels in Heaven sing praises and Jesus joyously applauds us. We may or may not be rewarded here on earth, but we CERTAINLY will be rewarded in Heaven.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Shammah ( The Lord is present) for being with me to strengthen me in my moments of weakness. Help me always be ready to give myself completely unto You for Your service as Jesus gave Himself completely for us. In His wondrous name we pray. Amen

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ love bless you today and every day

Thankyou, for these very beautiful truths, the very essence of our lives here on earth. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve others. Now, we are to do this exact same thing, being available to be a light, so someone else will be drawn unto Jesus Christ! Our rewards will be eternal, in heaven.
