Whether it’s summer, fall, or winter, it seems there’s always some sort of religious person dressed in a pen salesmen tie and white shirt, ready to turn you into a convert. There’s pamphlets in your face, free bibles, free opinions, and a barrage of questions about whether you know the “Truth” about the world. I’d just like to ask:
“Do YOU know the truth?”
There IS NO GOD. I feel like you are wasting my life trying to convince me to believe in an imaginary being that you cannot prove exists aside from words and feelings that have little more power than a sugar pill placebo effect. Guy or girl, Mormon, Christian, Presbyterian, you’re talking to me like I’m a fool telling me that you know the way of the world and I am missing out just not in my normal life, but A WHOLE EXTRA LIFE OUTSIDE OF THIS ONE. And the WORST, the absolute WORST part about the whole situation is:
YOU could CARE LESS about what my opinion is on the subject if it does not completely align with your own.
Have you ever tried to convince a religious person not to believe in God? It’s like talking to a cross breed between a wall and a broken record. You don’t get through, but you’ll definitely hear a very repetitive message back. And it’s not like you’re in the clear if you use your matrix skills to dodge the pamphlets shoved in your face or the occasional religious conversation among acquaintances…
You’re on my radio, on my TV, in my DOLLAR BILLS, AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, telling me that under God is where I exist, and should live. So much for not mixing church and state.
Please, take it back. With telemarketing vigor that you came, please leave my life. I really don’t want to hear it anymore, anywhere. I’m sick of it… SICK OF IT. People trying to convert me makes me feel like someone is trying to convince me to eat dirt at the same time telling me it’s good for me. It’s not, and you have no idea what you’re doing. From one opinion of an atheist, to the world. I’ve given up on converting you, at least understand that pressing people who don’t already believe adds more than a little bit of frustration to their daily lives.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
Not a sermon, JUST A THOUGHT.
