Listening to the radio the other day, I heard a story that I thought was kind of neat. I don’t remember who the speaker was or the entire message. But what stuck in my mind went something like this:
What we do here on Earth is live, L-I-V-E. Did you ever notice that L-I-V-E backwards is E-V-I-L, evil? And when we are done, what we have done id lived, L-I-V-E-D. And L-I-V-E-D backwards is D-E-V-I-L, devil, ever notice that?
That s a pretty interesting statement I think.
Let’s put it in a bit different terms: If we have things in order, we are living for God. If we get it backwards, we are serving the devil. That may be over-simplified but it’s about as true a statement as I can make on it.
God made us perfect in the beginning. The devil enticed Adam and Eve into falling away from God. Jesus came and died to give us that eternal life back. The devil would be pleased by nothing more than enticing us into getting it “backwards” and loosing out on the rewards Jesus made possible for us to have.
John 3:15-18 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Heavenly Father,
I praise and thank You for providing a way out of condemnation and into Heaven through You Son and our Lord, Christ Jesus.

AMEN!
I would also like to point out that in the middle of sin, S-I-N, is an “I”, as in “me”. Most of the sins we commit are because we are selfish. We want what we want, and we don’t care how we get it.
What an interesting perspective! I never thought about it that way, but you are quite right.
Very well written..Interesting write
God spelled backwards is dog. There’s a friend you can depend on, too.
Ken,
Surely you not mocking, are you?
Very much liked this analogy I suppose would be the right word.
That was a pleasure to read, and so very correct. Thank you for sharing.
