Believe It

Prayer is a wonderful gift from God. The most important thing to do when you pray? Believe.

Praying, it is something we everyone that reads this does.  Most likely, it is something each one does daily and probably more than once a day.  Prayer is a wonderful gift that God had given to us.  Just think, each time you pray, you are communing with the God of the universe, the Creator of all things, the Master Artist.  How awesome it is to have this amazing ability!

We know that God is faithful and that He listens, desires, to hear from us in prayer.  Yet I wonder, how often when we ask we truly ask in belief that we will get an answer?  James 1:6 says that when we ask, let us ask in faith, not wavering.  In other words (my paraphrase), ask in full belief that God is going to answer you; plead with your heart and then wait in total expectancy, knowing that you are heard and will be answered.

We don’t always get the answer we want.  Sometimes God says yes, sometimes He says no, sometimes He says not right now and still other times He will say okay but in a different way than you are expecting.  No matter how He sees fir to answer you, he is listening and will answer.  But you have to ask in faith that this is the case and then, I believe, expect that answer.

It is clear to me that Civil Rights advances were not won by the preachers praying. In the end they actually had to do something to get to one point from the other. If prayer was worth anything then they would never have had to place themselves in any danger…But they learned that prayer alone would not assist.

Leonardo, it is clear to me you either didn’t read the entire piece or you still lack understanding. The Lord answers all prayers, as I said above, but not always in the way we want or expect. Nor does He answer on our time line but His. You have, sadly, missed the whole point of faith and belief with expectation.

It is impossible for me to comprehend how with such prayer and faith as you project, that in reality it is not even as big as a pea, since no mountains will move for you. Or is that just a clever lie men wrote to entrap your beliefs.

    Leo,

To remove mountains was a proverbial phrase among the Jews, and is still retained in their writings, to express a thing which is very difficult, and to appearance impossible. You must remember that Jesus used parables, hyperbole and other things in His teachings.

Our faith, like a mustard seed, starts off small. But with time we have growth in our Christian lives; we mature as we grow, both in our Christian life and our mortal life. As the tiny mustard seed grows into a large, strong plant, so does our faith if we nourish it and exercise it.

If you have trouble grasping this concept, pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and then read 1 Cor. chapters 1-2; here is a link to make it simple: http://tinyurl.com/yhmka8a. Pray for an open and understanding heart and mind and He will show you the truth.

I’m painfully aware that these are the very things Joan of Arc did. I conclude that religion breeds disagreements and war;Religions are filled with mysticism, peculiar hatreds, and superstition. The world would be a better place if we proceeded with objective ethics based on fairness and Justice.
