Believing God

I’ve wrote this piece essentially to explain why believing in God can’t hurt you after you die and that you can benefit from the concept of God regardless if he exists or not.

Belief in an all powerful being is a difficult concept for those who have even committed their lives to God. How can something so power exist but yet not be obvious to us? Maybe it is and we are just looking at but do not see it. Like when you were looking for a particular item in your room and plainly overlooked it dozen of times.

The amazing things about believing in God is that it is a natural part of our evolution. We are the only animal to begin contemplating God that we know of. The reward of doing what evolution insists could be very rewarding. Evolution is certainly disproving God as much as it could be proving God. So why do I bring this up in the first place?

First of all, God is something that makes a human whole. Without a believe in a God you are less complete as a species. I’m not trying to say that you have to believe in God or living without a God is going to make your life any less. The fact is everyone is different. Some don’t actually find comfort in God or want to even contemplate about God. Of course that is another whole topic to write about. I’m not writing for those though exceptions.

Secondly, people look to God for leadership. Leadership would consist of anything that would explain the unknown or a fear such as death. God is the know it all and be it all. Everything we experienced we can assume God has experienced the same thing infinite amount of times. Because God is infinite, we look to him for leadership. Whether or not God gives it is a complete unknown and many would argue both sides heavily. Either way, people want to feel that they are doing what is right and just.

Third point which is one of the most immediate beneficial believe. God giving a gift of renewal. This could be forgiveness, healing, or anything that could be considered a reset or beginning anew. Believing in God helps you at practically every level both mentally, emotional, and philological. If God were not to exist, would this not be something that would benefit you more then not believing in such a being?

There is also another reasoning to behind the existence of God. Does Earth exist? How do you know it does? The thing is that everything that we can be experiencing could be completely our imagination. Whether or not be believe what is in front of us is completely up to each individual in the world. Every humans’ sense at some point in their life completely deceives them and makes you believe what is true isn’t at all. The whole point of this concept is that: if you think something exists, does it? So through this whole idea God simply exist by the very thought that he does, according to you.

So can you trick yourself in believing God? In a way, yes you can. The effect of God if he were not to exist would be as much as you truly believed he existed. God existing would no doubt increase the rewards infinitely. Of course this can only go so far before it isn’t beneficial but a bad trick instead. This would be very similar to a drug that is used for healing but instead inflicts horrid amounts of damage to the user.

The long term point is simply that God provides everlasting life. At least practically every simple preaches such a reward. The only problem with that is there is no true and hardcore proof that such a thing exists. If you are dead, you cannot think you exists because you are dead. Dead people can’t think! Of course, a concept of heaven is completely separate from where we live which is on earth or so we believe.

So what is the whole point of this essay? It is plainly to make you think. Believing in God, especially a peaceful God, could never hurt anyone. If God didn’t exist and you believed in him, who will punish you for everlasting life? Not a simple entity could do it. It is plainly obvious that neglecting God if he exists will put you in quite a bind when you die. Remember though, whether or God truly exists will never be fully understood by us. Believing is all it takes.
