Exodus 16:29
See! For the Lord has given you the Sabbath; … Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.”
Did Jesus and the Apostles remain in their place and did not go out of their place on the seventh day?
Mt 12:1
At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
Why did He allow this?
Mt 12:8
For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
Why? What is the purpose of Jesus’ coming into the world?
Mt 5:17
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
What part of the scripture did the coming of Jesus fulfill or complete, the reason why it is no longer sinful even when He and His apostles went out through the grainfields and pluck heads of grain and eat on the sabbath day?
Hosea 2:11
I will stop all her celebrations: her yearly festivals, her New Moons, her Sabbath days–all her appointed feasts.
It is true that the Lord God has given Israel the Sabbath rest… but God, through Jesus, already put this ceremony into its fulfilment. Christians (supposing they still exist) may now go out and pluck whatever there is, in order to have something to eat, on the Sabbath day and sin no more.

I agree with the following verses.
more entry please about verses
Interesting…..It is true that the Lord God has given Israel the Sabbath rest.
So then when I read Genesis 2:1-3, God is really telling us that He made the Sabbath rest for Israel, and that must have included Adam and Eve….But wait, Israel/Jacob was not even alive then……hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..
I would like some more information on this idea that the Sabbath was made for the Isralites instead of what Jesus says in the new testament – that the Sabbath was made for MAN……..
As far as what we can do on the Sabbath, you are pretty much right on……The “religious people” of Jesus’s time had made up thousands of their own laws – none of which came from the Lord…
It is even important for today’s Christian?…….Well, in view of Rev. 13 and Rev. 14, it seems to be…..A quick study will reveal that these chapters speak of worship – one that is acceptable and one that is not…..Hmmmmmmm….Which commandment deals with this whole worship thing anyway?……..
Comments please…….
Peace to you and yours……
