Blessings for Your Children: Devotion for May 25, 2012

Text: Isaiah 44:3 – For I will give you abundant water to quench your thirst and to moisten your parched fields and I will pour out spirit and my blessings on your children (New Living Translation).

God is aware of our needs as they come up (Matthew 6:25–32). There are some necessities that He provides for us without our asking. Can you name some of them? In today’s text, God assured Israelites of satisfying their physical and spiritual thirst. The land will also benefit. Why? See Joel 2:26. He also promised His spirit (Joel 2:28). Again He intended blessings for their children. God’s intent for us is to grant us that which is the best. It is His nature to bless us and give us the best things of life.

Are you thirsty? God will satisfy your thirst (John 7:37, Isaiah 55:1). Are you worried about rain for your crops in the farm? Are dry and thirsty, God promises to moisten you with the waters of his Holy Spirit, Joel 2:28; John 7:38; Acts 2:17. You should know that God is aware of your needs and will send the rain. Moreover, He has promised His spirit and blessings on your children which are also in Joel 2:28. These blessings are both spiritual and physical. As a child of God you should believe these promises and confess them (Romans 10:10). Even when your children manifest the opposite, believe God and continue confessing the opposite on them and He will fulfil it. Your children are blessed in Jesus name.
