Note: The following is a personal interpretation- no offence to anyone’s belief or faith is intended.
The proceedings today are not to establish guilt or innocence; moreover they are given to illustrate the necessity for either of them to exist. To this extent you are the judge jury and executioner in this exercise. We begin at the beginning.
“According to the Bible, you created the world in seven days, is this correct?”
“Yes, except it was six days on the seventh I rested.”
“And during this time, you also created Lucifer, the one who is also indicted with you. Is this correct?”
“Yes.”
“So what do you say to the allegation that all things that Lucifer has done has been because of you?”
“That is not correct?”
“To coin a phrase from the modern idiom, I may have loaded the bullets but I did not fire the gun. That was the choice of Lucifer and his machinations.”
“I see, so in your opinion the question of responsibility rests entirely with Lucifer?”
“Yes.”
“No further questions.
“I call Mr Lucifer to the stand.”
We shall dispense with the oath, in this case.
“Mr Lucifer, you have many names and titles and have many guises. Prince of Lies. Satan, Beelzebub, to name but a few. Is this necessary?”
“Well in my line of business, I sometimes have to be a little wary.”
“I see and what is your particular line of business.”
“I wreak havoc and cause great pain and agony to mankind.”
“So this is an admission of guilt, clearly, there is no need to further this trail any longer.”
“No you asked me what I did. It is my job, I am only following orders. “
“As were the Nazi’s during World War Two, when they disposed of their victims, is that your defence?”
“You must appreciate that the position was given to me by God, I did not ask for it I was banished and doomed to all eternity to become the personification of evil.” If anyone is responsible for my deeds then it is him.”
“But you have a choice, you could be good.”
“In order for there to be good, as you put it there must be evil, for there to be balance.” The word itself evil has its own connotation, when reversed it becomes LIVE. Therefore EVIL lives even in the word itself. It is the Yin and Yan of life. For mankind to know good he must also know evil.”
“So in your defence, what you are saying is that you exist because God does and because God exists you have too?”
“Perhaps that is the only conclusion. Yes.” “But what you must remember is the evil that men do is not just down to me it is down to mankind too, they are after all the instruments by which the deed is done.” “Not since my banishment, have I as a being had any physical presence in this world. My contribution is only one of manifestation within the psyche of someone who does evil.”
“As is my adversary his presence as the Omnipotent being is also one of faith pure and simple.” “If you believe in him, then by right, you should also believe in me and in my existence.”
” I see, so your defence if one is needed is that you are a necessary evil and that mankind could not in itself exist without you is that what you saying?”
“In a manner of speaking.”
“So all things that are done, war pestilence, plague, drought, terrorism, famine, are not your responsibility, these are merely the tools by which you, as you put it, manifest yourself.”
“Yes, I am not the instigator of such, although it is true I can influence decisions one way or another in the minds of the protagonists, but not directly again it is a matter of choice for mankind to act upon.”
“So who do you say is responsible, you or God?”
“That is a matter for you to decide.”
“No further questions.”
The jury will now retire to deliberate on the verdict.
