The First and the Last
Christ said in Rev. 22: 13 that he is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. In Matt. 16:13, Jesus asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? (14) And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. (15) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? (16) And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. (17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (18) And I say also unto thee, That thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
In the Book of Daniel
In the book of Daniel, Christ is the Great Stone who will crush the kingdoms of this world.
(Daniel 2:34) Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. (Daniel 2:44) And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
It is Christ who is given dominion by the Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:13) I saw in the night visions, and, behold one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. (14) And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Even though Christ was not born in the book of Daniel, he was still seen in Daniel’s visions. He also existed before Daniel because he is Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Jesus said that he and his father are one according to St. John 10:30.
Daniel’s friends were even protected in the furnace by someone which I believe was Christ. I believe that Nebuchadnezzar the king saw Christ. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were cast into the fiery furnace for refusing to worship a false god, they were not hurt. King Nebuchadnezzar was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. (Daniel 3:24) (25) He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
When you search the scriptures, you learn about the father and the son. They both work together. You learn how God will protect you and how Christ is with you. It is important to read the whole Bible. God and his son are written all over the Bible. The word is God’s word. When you study God’s word and try to live by it, you will find out that it’s not just words written in a book. You will find that it is the living word of God.
