I wrote an article a little while ago entitled http://writinghood.com/online-writing/triond-forums-do-they-need-a-moderator/ Triond forums – Do they need a moderator? Most of the comments and messages I received showed me that there are people writing with Triond who would like to use the forum, but have been turned off by the foul language and “adult” content.
I have been starting forum threads for Christian writers to get to know each other and to offer advice, encouragement, and friendship. We have had some great discussions and I found out that there are a lot more of us than I thought. I realized that having a forum thread for people who don’t venture into the forum anymore won’t help unless they know that it’s there.
Hence this article. This is an open invitation to all of the Christian writers on Triond. And if you are not a Christian, or you are not sure if you are or not, you are still welcome to join us. Be warned that you might get prayed for. That’s what we do.
Just a word of caution: the Triond forum is open to anyone and free speech is everyone’s right. Where ever Christians gather, opposition comes circling around. Some of them believe they are doing us a favour by pointing out the fallacies in the Bible and in our belief system. Others seem to bolster their own self esteem by calling Christians hypocrites and letting us know that we are no better than they are (which is actually the truth – we are all saved by grace and forgiven by mercy.) Still others are just plain rude and thrive on tearing others down, making mockery and ridicule into a sport.
But I assure you, greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. If you are confident and secure in your faith, opposition will only make you stronger. Answering questions and deflecting criticism is the best exercise for you to get better at answering questions and deflecting criticism. And never forget God’s most precious promise to His children:
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38,39)
Hope you will join me in the forum.

Karen, I support you 100 percent with the Christian writers thread. I must say I wish the Christian writing thread could be moderated. Not for free speech, but for profanity and vulgarity. I believe you have the right to say what you believe, but there is a limit to free speech in the USA. You still cant yell fire in a crowded theater. You can express your opinion, and do your spamming with out vulgarity, and homosexual cheer leading. Just my 2 cents Karen. Keep up the good Christian work.
Yes, Karen I agree with you very much. I have avoided the forums because of the language that was offensive to me. I saw no reason to take part in the discussions with people that need to just make a visit there uncomfortable. There will always be a bad apple in a bunch even if the bunch is a small one.
hi Karen, I have visited the forums a couple times and the viciousness that some people display is a real turn off so I just avoid the Triond forums. I hope your thread will make the difference that is saddly needed.
I think it is such a good idea to start a thread like this. I am sure you will get lots of support.
Christine

Karen, Thank you for the invite. I am looking forward to the forum. See ya there. Wonderful article!
Excellent article Karen.

This is a good move. It’s good to make a stand and have an avenue of expression in the forum. I rarely visit the forum because of the endless vulgarity and some nonsense discussions. I’ll drop by your thread soon. Thanks.
Hello Karen, I have just visited the forum and the threads seem to be a lot cleaner I could not see any four letter words this time Praise the Lord. Having a christian Thread is a great idea.
Karen, great leadership. Brian
