It was with great anticipation we welcomed the Seven Project to our area the end of 2011‘s school year. I was very pleased to hear that a local general (supposedly not tied to any one church) youth group would in a way oversee a series of five follow-up meetings.
Those meetings[1] occurred and some of the subjects covered were prayer and serving. However, though each speaker used Holy Writ, not one of those meetings explained why we use the Holy Bible. One speaker, though using Scripture, did not have a Holy Bible with him, and we did not see that any of the young people were encouraged to bring a Bible.
People are brought up in societies that often have many textbooks of authority. Sometimes the textbooks are wrong. Most people learn about poetry and art, and that the creators of such are inspired. All disciples need to know why we trust the Bible as true and its composition not just inspired, but inspired by God.
For many, simply put, the body of Christ knows that the Holy Bible is true because its principles work in their daily lives. For non-believers, I respectfully ask that you consider Israel and the many passages associated with The Beast (a.k.a. Antichrist). For the man of sin to sit in the Temple (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4) there has to be a Temple. There has to be Israel so the Temple can be rebuilt. From 70AD to 1948, there was no Temple and Israel was scattered. In May 1948 Isaiah 66:8 was fulfilled and Israel was back. Not too many nations bounce back, if any, from obliteration. If you check Christ’s own prophecy in Matthew 24 and similar passages you will see we are well on the way for the rising of The Beast. Other Bible prophecies have been fulfilled so rest assured they all will.
The term “inspired” is more than simple, human, moving emotion to write. The term as we use it from 2 Timothy 3:16 means “God breathed.” While humans were used to write the Word, they were governed by God’s Holy Spirit to write what they did. In some cases, you would be amazed at the number of possible words, let’s say in the Hebrew, that the human writer could choose and by the Holy Spirit they selected a certain word or the grammar is constructed in such a way to bring out a powerful truth.

On this point, the disciple needs to learn to go to the original languages for deeper study. They can do that by selecting the proper options on a verse at blueletterbible.org. Or, I encourage them to do what I do, use the downloadable OnLine Bible (shown above). There are too many versions out there, many of which are erroneous. So the sooner you are able to do your own research, the better.
We must encourage those in Christ to look at the Holy Bible as the written Word of God, and not the word of man. To prevent the danger in the minds of some to look at His Word as just another book written by people, we must not ignore teaching about this Great Book itself.
Since 1970 I have not found a resource more reliable than the Holy Bible in its original languages. I have surrendered to its Author through Christ, and now have great peace within though there is much trouble in the world as I write this. I have that peace for the Word assures me that the Prince of Peace will soon reign (Revelation 11:15).
Notes:
[1] The group referred to was NOT the Seven Project, but the local general youth group.

I agree with you. The words of God is a light of our lives.
God be with us always.
