Published by It is okay to study on ancient things. It’s okay to learn how people lived in the Bible lands. But it is not okay when we get confused reading God’s word because of manuscripts that come from the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea Scrolls can’t be all that important. Why are the scrolls hidden in caves? We shouldn’t have to work and dig for manuscripts. Many people in the past that left these dead scrolls behind probably kept a record of things about their daily life, things that they heard, things that they saw, and even wrote their own beliefs. That’s what we do today. Look at all of the different versions of the Bible. But there is only one true version. The King James Bible is the old and best version.
A lie will cover up and look like truth. But the naked truth will come and is plainly seen. So what are we looking for? Why do we keep rambling on? Why do we look for more than what God has given us? We do not need Dead Sea Scrolls to prove the Bible true. Holy men wrote it as they were moved by the Spirit of God. The word of God is living. The word of God is active. Everything the Holy Bible said has come to pass or is coming to pass. God’s word will prove itself whether we believe the Bible or not. His word is alive and is not dead. God’s word is not hidden in caves. God’s word is already given to us. Whatever he has given us, that’s all we need to know. His word is in the Holy Bible. If we don’t read it , study it, live it, and believe it, it is our fault when we are lost. So do we need Dead Sea Scrolls or the Living Word of God?

You have a point. But, to adhere to the King James Version as the only translation I personally found limiting to my understanding. And the King James jaron is difficult to memorize. I give you a big applause if you manage memorization of this old translation. But, how do you teach today,s unchurched kids the Word of God from a text they can’t understand.
The scrolls, yes, I think we need to be more into God’s Word, and less focus on the Dead Sea Scrolls…but God in His timing will reveal all things to prove His Word to a doubtful, dying and narcissistic world. Nice article, even if it was a bit emtional.
Hi Catelin! I learnded from a children’s Bible when I was growing up based on King James. I didn’t always understand the King James Bible either. But I knew what was in the book because I was taught from King James Bible from a child. I didn’t memorize everything in it line by line, but I know all of the main stories that are in there. I know what chapter and book of the Bible to find a particular subject. I know if something is in the Old Testament or the New. God will bring all things to your remembrance. I kept studying and kept reading and God opened up my mind to understand. I thank God for the blessing.
When I was in high school, I hated Macbeth by William Shakesphere and Julius Caesar. I couldn’t seem to comprehend those books because I had a lack of interest in the stories.
My English teacher told me that if it was in English, I could comprehend. She made me read a paragraph and would make me explain what I thought each sentence meant. If I didn’t understand a word, I had to find a dictionary. She told me that there was no excuse. I didn’t have much problem anymore after that. What she told me helped me to comprehend the Bible even more. I went out and bought a Bible dictionary.

Do you think that the Bible was originally written in English? The King James Version is a translation of the original Old and New Testament written in Hebrew and Greek i.e. the dead sea scrolls. Luke 4:14-21 Jesus quotes the book of Isaiah do you think He was reading the King James Version?
Sounds like you have a passion for the word, but don’t limit yourself. The Word of God will open up to you if you dig deeper into it’s original text.
No, I do not think that the Bible was originally written in English. But the King James version is close enough. Without seeing the original, I know enough that the word of God is true and was translated for us thanks to God. The most important thing is that we know the truth and that’s all I need to make it. I don’t need no lost books or dead sea scrolls. The word of God is living, and God has made it known.
The scrolls were hidden away because of their importance to the religion at the time.
They were persecuted for their beliefs and the resources they had accumulated at the time.
The found scrolls were some of the gospels of prophets and witnesses of christ hitherto unknown, hidden or lost.
We can get to find out more about the Christ and other biblical teachings from these scrolls.

The bible is unfinished, its being added to every day in the things we do and the things we learn.

It’s alright if you get a hold of what is real and don’t get yourself confused. But, all that God has wanted us to know is there. Some people want even accept that. Some things God told the prophets to seal up and write not. One place in the Bible is Rev.10:4. There is another prophet he told the same thing in the Bible, but I can’t remember where. God has not revealed everything to us yet, but he will. We will all know the truth before it’s all over with; both good and bad. In Rev.14:6 “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people….” I don’t worry about those dead scrolls. It’s best to get it straight from the master. He is truth of all truth.
The Apostle John identified what letters were scripture on the Isle of Patmos around 90 AD. Satan has been working to destroy God’s word from the very beginning when he tempted Eve with: “Yea, hath God said.” He continues the attack on truth.
He has certainly worked to cause doubt, confusion and division regarding the truth of the word and he has been very successful with the many (per)versions that have been generated from corrupt manuscripts such as Vaticanus and Sinaiticus. The KJBible is the only Bible taken from Textus Receptus or the Received Text and is God’s preserved word. All other versions are from the corrupted manuscripts.
We should be exceptionally cautious when someone declares the finding of a new book or evidence that adds to or takes away from the Bible (KJB). We have ALL that we need in the KJB.
