Devotion for Feb 4, 2012

No one would want to ask without receiving. Unfortunately, not all who ask receives. Either they did not ask accordingly or they ask out of their lustful desires. God grants us even the most important and precious things we do not ask of when our lives are pleasing unto Him.

How to Receive All You Need

Text: Mt. 6:33 – And He will give you all you need from day to day, if you live for Him and make His kingdom your primary concern (NLT).

Note the details of today’s promise. God will give you ALL you NEED, DAY by DAY, if… What can be so heart-warming and glorious to know that God has taken care of our tomorrow? Whatever one needs for the day, He has assured. The greatest problem of man lies with tomorrow; what to eat, do, how to meet up with responsibilities. Why worry about tomorrow? Jesus counseled us in Matthew 6:25-34. Only God knows tomorrow. He has been to tomorrow and has ordered what will happen therein. If you know this, why not do His biddings and see if He will not give you all you need?

The condition for God to fulfill this promise is if we live our lives for God and make His Kingdom our concern. What is the Kingdom of God and how do we make it our concern? Kingdom of God is freedom from evil and sin. See Romans 14:17, Matthew 12:28, 1 Corinthians 4:20. cf. Daniel 2:44.  Here is the challenge for us. How do you live your life? Do you live your life in righteousness? What concern do you have for the Church expanding? You that worry yourself go to the birds and learn a lesson (Luke 12:24). Know that God gives them food but does not throw it into their nest. If God so care for them, why will He not care for you created in His image?
