An opinion on the difference between Christianity and Confucianism.

I think the differences in their sacrifices is choice. The Duke of Zhou, a royalty, had chosen to sacrifice himself  because he believed that in doing so, that the King, his brother, could get better. Jesus, a criminal in the eyes of the Romans, did not choose to be sacrificed, but was created, born, just so he could cleanse Earth of our sins, his whole scarification was planed by God. In the book, it also states that the Duke of Zhou believed he was “better able than his brother to serve spirits”, while from my immediate knowledge, Jesus never believed that he was better than anyone. I think that Confucianism would view the Christianity story with a mixture that Christianity is better, but also that its worst. Since God was willing to sacrifice his only son for the world, it shows that he is  a majestic leader, but it also could show that they don’t have choice, since Jesus was basically forced to sacrifice himself. Christians would see Confucian story negatively, the fact that they believed in more than one god and that they worship Heaven, an inanimate, rather than a supreme being, like God, would tick a Christian off.
