The fields of theology and science may very well be on the brink of the biggest…. and most important…. argument in the history of mankind.
French researcher and renowned Shroud of Turin experts Robert Mottern and William Dinegar announced on November 24th that replicable DNA strands had, in fact, been retrieved from the Shroud, the cloth believed to have covered Jesus Christ after his Crucifixion. It is believed by many in the religious community that his image was imprinted on the Shroud of Turin at the moment of Jesus Christ’s resurrection.
The scientific community is obviously in a frenzy at the prospect of cloning the alleged messiah. The Catholic church is already making very vocal and public outcry at the notion, with one Cardinal even proclaiming that the scientific work being attempted is the work of the devil.
An order has already been filed by the Church with the Italian authorities to try and reclaim the extracted DNA, but the consensus at this point is that the damage has already been done; with no way to effectively verify the actual amount of DNA extracted, the church has no way of knowing how much there is to account for.
A press conference has been scheduled by Dr. Robert Mottern and Dr. William Dinegar on the 29th of November in Switzerland.
