Don’t Lie

     I heard you tell a lie to someone the other day.

     Why would you want to pretend it was the truth?

     Liars are eventually found out and confronted, they say.

     Why are you telling a lie again? 

           Leave your lies in your pocket.

           Then throw them in the trash.

           A liar can’t be trusted.

           He may stab you in the back. 

       You have lied so much your face is placid,

        You now believe the lies yourself.

        Why do you stick to your story of untruth.

        Why not come clean and go get some help. 

            Leave your lies in your pocket.

            Then throw them in the trash.

            He may stab you in the back. 

       You may think no one can tell the difference

       Between the truth and a lie.

       God has recorded your words in heaven.

       If you have to face them in the judgment,

       Those are words you can’t deny.

          So leave your lies in your pocket

          Then throw them in the trash.

          Turn your life over to Christ Jesus.

           Even though you can’t take the lies back.

                 You’ll no longer feel guilty

                 And you’ll be on the right track.
