EMMANNUEL
While shepherds watched their flocks by night
on the hills surrounding Bethlehem
came forth the very Son of God,
Light of the world, the great I Am
to bring peace on Earth,
good will toward men.
When love came down from Heaven’s realm
Heaven’s light shown on the shepherds’ field,
God’s glory bursting forth in song
and to lowly shepherds was revealed
the Lamb of God;
He was born that night
to bring hope and joy to our tomorrows,
bring glad tidings, peace and joy
to each heart lost in its own sorrows.
God’s spotless lamb had come to Earth,
born fully God and fully man,
the Messiah, Christ,
the Great I Am…
He was born to save us from our self…
in a world where love and life are lost
came the Lord of lords, Emmanuel
to live and teach and pay the cost.
He came to give us hope and light our way
and teach us faith, bless us with grace,
for every man, woman, child
of every nation, every race…
When we choose to follow and believe
and in our God place all our trust;
He blazed the way to set us free…
And Emmanuel, He walks with us.
He came to give life back to man.
One day He is coming back again
as King of kings and Lord of lords…
God’s gift of love…
we have His word.
Love came down from Heaven’s realm.
He came to save us from our self,
be our truth, our way, our light and life,
Emmanuel, Lord Jesus Christ.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:23…The Bible
