God in Our Midst

All of us think of God when we are in need. Need is different for different individuals. Certain groups look for God when in trouble and when they are in want of solace. Others look for him to grant favours and blessings in kind. However there are many who seek his assistance when in pain and in ill health. There are yet those who have no idea if God ever exists and they place all hopes and trust on themselves and their abilities or on someone in person whom they can look up to when in need.

GOD!….Oh GOD…the almighty!…whom one seeks only when one is in need. But where does this God dwell? How can God hear us when we are in need? Is God a being or just a form of energy or spirit? Last but not the least in importance, is the question of why we are here.  Yes, these questions must have been around since the dawn of history and mankind. But, they cannot be answered though man has climbed the highest mountain and searched the deepest oceans. In fact man has left earth’s orbit and landed on the moon, yet he hasn’t been able to answer these questions that dwell among us since the inception of mankind.

To me however, God is a supreme force…..a formless being, appearing to those who really know him in different ways and forms. Since the universe is his creation and not spontaneous as claimed by some scientists, he can choose to be what he wishes to be when he wants to show himself to his believers.

God appears to the needy in the form of a helping hand, a provider or benefactor or even as a shoulder to  lean on or cry on. Many people who are successful think that their success is solely their own effort; thus creating an egocentric and arrogant individual in our midst.  As for me I think that each of us is here for a reason and a given mission by God………the purpose we are here and in existence. The doctor, the teacher, the engineer, the lawyer, the labourer, the sales person and so on… are all here just to fulfill God’s mission. As children of God we have to understand each other and assist each other. However the politician has even used religion and God’s name as a tool to fight his battle and create war. Religion has been used by fanatics to commit murder and to justify the act of carnage by the millions. There have been self proclaimed messiahs who have led individuals to kill at their pleasure in the name of God.

Look at the world around us…..the wars, the murders, the cheating, the corruption, the different forms of abuse and so on and so forth clearly indicating that many among us have forgotten the God in our midst.

I feel everyone has it’s own god. It lies deep within ourselves. When we find it, it takes us to the right path of life, and when we believe in it, everything in ones life will perfect.
