When people think of what it takes to be a Christian, most people immediately think of going to church on Sunday mornings- and Sunday mornings only. Nonetheless, the change in a person after they accept Jesus as their Lord and savior is a final and revolutionary change that is based on a solid foundation. A foundation that our economy seems to be missing. Knowing this, what would happen if we Christians brought that love home from church on Sunday and into our places of business during the week?
God changes people and he opens the eyes of their hearts. This means more respect for others and an actual application of being “slow to speak and eager to listen.” If God were in the workplace, compassion would be a normal thing and ideas could more freely be shared. Everyone could communicate with deeper understanding.
Also, with an application of God’s basic principles into the workplace, people would truly care. Work could be bettered by motivation and inspiration instead of being pushed by greed and fear. God teaches people about kindness and self-control, which are two important characters that are lacking in our business world in this day and age.
A common discipline that is taught in the Bible and followed by most Christian people is tithing, or giving ten percent of their total income to the church. Once people begin to tithe, they gradually notice an increase in total profit, because God shows grace to those who give to Him. If God was introduced into our workplace, employees could pick charities to donate to, and in turn, the company would notice substantial success.
God has changed sinners into saints, killers into lovers, and thieves into teachers of grace. If He was introduced into our workplace, He could change this economy around. In a day like we’re in, how possibly could more harm be done, especially if His introduction is one of mercy into a place full of hate? The real question is..why not?
