God Sometimes Chooses the Least of Us to Do the Most

Have you ever heard of a person doing something that they should not have been able to do or doing something only they could have done?

“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world

to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the

weak things of the world to put to

shame the things which are mighty”

“Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen

the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs

of the kingdom which He promised

to those who love Him?”

People worry too much about not being someone God can use. The Bible is full of people who none of us would have picked to do great things. We all have our favorites, but here are a few of mine:

  • David – he was a small boy, he could not even wear the armor of a soldier. He could not pick up a spear or sword. He faced Goliath with nothing better than a slingshot and some stones (little rocks). He killed a giant who had been killing men bigger than David
  • Paul – if I were to choose someone to write some chapter in my autobiography, my biggest enemy would not be among them. Paul (as Saul) persecuted Christians, killed them and burned them. He was there when Stephen was killed. But God chose him to preach to the Gentiles and him to write approximately 13 to 15 chapters in God’s own book, the Holy Bible
  • Jesus – let me explain this one. If I were going to choose a small child to grow up and die for the world’s sins, it would not be my own son. God choose His own Son to die for us.

The Power of Fear and Overcoming It »

We all have heard of the stories of someone being exactly the right size to do the impossible and save someone’s life. Baby Jessica probably would have died in that well if one of her rescuers had not been small enough to crawl down and get close enough to her that he could tell them where not to dig out of fear of collapsing debris down on Jessica. Another rescuer had to be small enough to crawl to where she lay and rescue her.

There have been so many stories about people doing heroic things just because they were the right size and in the right place at the right time. God places you were you need to be so you can get the job done he placed you on this earth to do.

Therefore, if you are small in frame or height, or have something else you see as a deficit, hear me when I say this: your time is coming. Get ready and stay ready, God will use you in a way that you would never dream possible. It does not matter what others say about you, it does not even matter what you say about yourself. It only matters what you do and if just trust God, you my friend will do great things!
