Published by Years ago all three of my children were young, and every evening after the children had their baths and were in their pajamas, we turned the TV off and I got out the bible story book. written for children. As I sat, the children would sit on the floor surrounding my chair. I would read them a story and afterwards we would discuss the story I had just read, asking questions and giving our opinions. Afterwards, we would take turns praying. My husband Dale was working late that evening. He was in the restaurant business. This particular evening just as they were getting ready to close up, everyone had gone home except Dale and this other worker. But this other man left a few minutes ahead of my husband leaving Dale to lock up.
And before he could lock the door, there appeared three men with nylon stockings on their heads, disguising the appearance of their faces. One of the men had a gun and They made Dale lay on the floor face down. They tied his hands behind him with a nylon stocking and another stocking over his mouth so he couldn’t talk and with the gun held to the back of his head. the guy said, I am going to blow your brains away. and one of the other men, said no. let’s get the money and go. But again the trigger happy guy was getting ready to pull the trigger. And the other guy, again said. leave him. We have the money let’s go.
The kids and I finished our prayer meeting and I glanced at the clock and thought to myself, I wonder why Dale is late,he should have been home thirty minutes ago. About that time the phone rang. It was Dale. I will be a little later getting home. he said. The police are here. I am alright. I will explain everything when I get home. About thirty minutes later, Dale came in. He told me everything that had happened. and since the stockings he was tied up with was stretchable it didn’t take him long to get himself loose and call the police. And as we discussed all the details we found that at the very time Dale was tied up and robbed was the very time my children and I were praying. I believe because of our prayers God was moved with his mercy and he sent his angels to protect Dale. Just because we can’t see them doesn’t mean that angels aren’t all around us.
