Have you ever seen a loved one that was dead that guided or warned you about something? Did you find that the things they told you were true? It could be a sign of psychic ability. Some people think that it is evil to see someone that has died, but if they have died in Christ, are they really dead? How much of the Bible do you know? All of the answers and clues are there. In the spirit world, there is good and evil. I think the less you know about God, it’s possible to tap into more of the evil side. That’s why it is important to know God. That’s why Satan doesn’t want anyone to know God and his word. I believe that we all have some psychic ability because we are made by God who has all power. He is the reason that we breathe. It is his breath in our nostrils just like Adam (Gen. 2:7). We are a part of God and we have sin too.
I think about the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve ate of that tree and that’s probably why we sometimes have abilities in us we may or may not understand. The reason why that tree existed, I don’t know. God made all things. He told Adam and Eve not to eat of that tree (Gen. 2:17), and they were hard headed (Gen. 3). Satan said (Gen. 3:5), For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Jesus also said in St. John 10:34, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? (Psalm 82:6) I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. (7) But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. We certainly do die because Adam and Eve ate of the tree of good and evil. It is because of evil that we die. God never intended for us to die.
If you think that you have any type of ability, learn who God is. Don’t let Satan and his evil take over what you have. If you think you have a psychic ability, it’s nothing new. It has been here since the beginning of time. It is important to know God. Just remember, everything is not of God, and everything is not of Satan either. We sometimes give Satan too much credit. Learn what is good and learn what is evil.

Very interesting article. However from my experience, speaking of any type of pyshic ability, in most Christian groups, net a negative reaction. I share your viewpoint however, knowing many times, I have been forwarned by premonitions, dreams and very strong discernments. I feel these are ways the Holy Spirit, speaks to reveal what is yet to happen or to be known.
I feel that way too. John in the book of Revelation experienced strong visions, and they were given to him by God. The same thing can happen to us because we have the same God. We need to be close to him. We need to grow in him. That way, we can use our abilities correctly and the things we experience.
This is very interesting, yes, usually in the Christian circle, psychic ability is considered satanic. I have to wonder why the gift of discernment or other similar gifts of the Holy spirit are not simply Godly psychic gifts if that name wasn’t tagged with a bias. A rose is a rose. It is beautiful but can have thorns, be careful how you handle it. I think knowing God is the best thing to do.
Kristi, you are right. Knowing God is the best thing. We can have spiritual gifts from God according to the Bible. When we receive them, we should give God the glory. A lot of people that claim they have gifts do not give God the glory. If we do not give God the glory, Satan can enter. There are many people that have spiritual gifts, but it does not mean a thing if they are not serving God.
I agree with what you said, its just that I sensed something in my core when living in my grandparents’ home, like not to go into a room or the lights dimming when I read a ghost story out loud (not doing that again!) and I felt like it was like a warning sign perhaps. I’m alive spiritually because of Jesus Christ and I do think we get nudges from the spirit realm. God bless!
Semantics seem to be more of a factor in this kind of matter than on other spiritual topics. My family has always referred to Christians as “hearing from God” or “having spiritual gifts” and reserved “psychic” for non-Christians who gave everything/everyone -but- God the glory. To us, it was always nearly instinctual to distinguish by sources of information. In our dialect there is also a third category that does not merit distinct terminology, though–we assume that sometimes God speaks to non-Christians during in drastic situations, and that some forms of spiritual activity are so obvious that a normal person would perceive them unaided. This category can get a bit confusing. An example would be when I describe having sleep paralysis and needing to exorcise an evil shadowy thing from my room, to which my mother says I must have the Gift of Discernment of Spirits. I didn’t discern anything; non-Christians have experienced it exactly the same way except for the exorcism part.
But people outside our little community seem to use supernatural-related terms more loosely, so we’re not always sure how to react.
…I have no idea what if anything I just added to the discussion. ^_^;
Hi Violet. Man is always coming up with scientific names and categories for things. The easiest way is to look at something as good or evil. If something is trying to hurt you, you know that it is of evil because God whom is good will never try to hurt you. Yes, he can punish you like parents do when you are wrong and to keep you from evil.
God meant for everything to be good, but we can make anything bad. There is only two ways about it. There is good and there is evil.
