Every Christian knows that while there is one gospel message God inspired four different disciples or apostles to write a biography of the life of Jesus on earth. Hence we hear about the four gospels. These four accounts of Jesus’ life focus on different aspects of His time on earth and the experiences presented overlap as you see the same stories told in the style of four different authors yet with the same inspiration. Matthew may mention something that Mark did not. Mark may mention something not found in Luke. John may talk about things at times that are not found in any of the other three accounts. However, there is a great, free Bible tool called “Gospel Parallels” that you simply must have. Let us see what it is good for.

(1) With this Bible tool you can find any text in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John using the “Find passage” button and then click “Find Parallels” and you will see which text corresponds to it from the other gospel books.
(2) If you click on a particular verse that verse will turn green in color and the parallel verses in the other gospel books will be in bold font.
(3) You can then copy and paste this to your Word Document without having to type anything.
(4) The second button on the right named “Chronological” will give you the Gospel in chronological order.
(5) The “Search For Words” button allows you to search for a word that can be found in the gospels. You can then follow the procedure in point #1 to find the parallels to that text.
(6) If you want to peruse the previous chapter click “Prior Chapter.” If you want to go to the next chapter click the “Next Chapter” button.
(7) The “Editor” button allows you to write whatever you want as if you are in Microsoft Word.
(8) If you click on the “Bible translation” button you can select the New International Version (NIV) or the Revised Version (RV) instead of the default Bible Version which is the King James Version (KJV).
(9) Click “Tools” if you want to get a “Table of harmonies” meaning all the parallel references in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
This Bible tool “Gospel Parallels” can be freely downloaded from http://www.download25.com/install/gospel-parallels.html.
Take advantage of this opportunity while it lasts as it will enrich your understanding of the gospels. When you read all four gospels you get a clearer, fuller picture of the life of Christ.

This is fantastic. Thank God that we are living in times when such tools are freely available.
