HE DOES NOT FORGET TO HELP
Text: Isaiah 44:21– Pay attention O Israel, for you are my servant, I, the Lord will not forget to help you (New Living Translation).
The New International Version of the Bible has the opening of this text as, “Remember these things…” The Israelites, probably out of suffering in captivity have forgotten that God is Omnipotent. This type of life is common to many of us. When we face problems, we easily forget what God has done and can do. I am always a victim that is why I have quarrelled with God many times. However and at the end, I will see my shame, and repent.
On March 15, 2008, I went to Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Asaba and wept profusely that God should take my life so that all my suffering will end. I forgot that with God all things are possible and He that did it before can still do it again. Are you in that same condition now? Just pause and think. Has the Lord done anything for you in past? He is still alive (Hebrews 13:8).
He does not change and He cannot start with your case. He is not man that loses his memory. God told the Israelites, “Remember…”, so He is telling us to remember all He did for us in the past. He has not forgotten that He will help us. Can you easily forget what is in your hand? Read Isa.49:16. Stop contemplating whether you are still in terms with God or not. He has not forgotten you. He remembers and attends to you in that your need (Isaiah 41:17). However, you should not stop telling Him about those needs for what you speak to His hearing, He will do (Numbers 14:28).
Food for Thought: Does God ever forget something? If he doesn’t, then He can’t start with you or stop when it is your turn.
1. Pray you will always remember what the Lord had done to build your faith.
2. Ask God to remember you now as you are facing trouble.
3. Pray for loved ones in problem that God will remember them.
