In the year 1905 , a young college student brought revival to the Village of Wales , which ulitmately touched nations and continents with the term Welsh Revival , many revivals were an off shoot of this revival . All because of one young man who cried out to God , “Bend Me”

One night at 25 years of age , he suddenly awoke to the presence of God and spent much time enjoying the sweet fellowship of God . In a series of meetings held by evangelist Seth Joshua he renewed his passion for the Holy Spirit. He heard these words prayed ,”O Lord , Bend Us”
he later testified to the experience – ‘ I felt a living power pervading my bosom. It took my breath away and my legs trembled exceedingly. This living power became stronger and stronger as each one prayed, until I felt it would tear me apart… I fell on my knees with my arms over the seat in front of me. My face was bathed in perspiration, and the tears flowed in streams. I cried out, “Bend me, bend me!” It was God’s commending love which bent me… What a wave of peace flooded my bosom…”
After obtaining permission to leave college , he set out to preach a simple message to the church . 17 people attended in fact . They were so blessed that they invited him back for the second night and then the third and it went on. By the second week, they had no place in the church because it was packed to the full.
After reading about the various accounts of revivals that happened in and around Wales he started travailing in prayer. thinking he might be dangerous and mad his landlady kicked him out of his house hearing him pray for hours at a stretch ..
News about what God was doing in this village spread throughout Wales. People began to seek God for a similar experience. within weeks the fire of Revival began burning throughout the region of Wales. Church services extended from Sunday to everyday. They started from 6pm and went on till midnight. Soon within few months, entire Wales was soaking in God. The Criminal Offences registered with the Police came down to 2 from 600 cases a month!Since they had no crime to inspect the police officers started to sing in revival choirs .Even the donkeys which were used at the mines,couldn’t understand the kind language as opposed to the swearing they were used t by the former ungodly miners.
No one ever imagined that what was born in the heart of that little College Student Evan Roberts would impact the nation so profoundly. More than 100,000 people had been added to the churches of Wales within three months. Even though some argue it was only 80,000 that remained after five years. 80% of retention rate is a mighty impact ! This revival then swept across the borders and spread to America, Canada, Europe and some say even to India.
The same God of Evan Roberts is alive and available for those who seek Him today! If you can seek God fervently today, the Lord will let Revival birth in you! Will you be that Man ?
