Every scents time begin people have made compromises in what they know is the right thing to do. Normally when people compromise on what they believe the consequences are not usually good.

I remember as a young boy when I purposed in my heart to be a better husband and father to my family than my dad was to my mother, myself, my two sisters, and my brother. I not only purposed this in my heart for myself but I promised this purpose to God to glorify his name with my uncompromised purpose.

My resolution to be that uncompromised husband and father has been a testimony to my faith and belief in God that helps me to be a blessing to those I love.
Now Paul Harvey would say, now for the rest of the story.

In the beginning man and women walked and talked with God in the Garden of Eden. God, man and woman had a resolution or agreement with each other in the garden. The agreement was they could eat of everything that grew in the garden but not of the tree of Knowledge and good and evil they could not eat. Now because Eve gave into temptation and ate of the tree she compromised and broke the agreement because she believed a lie from Satan. Now because Adam also compromised the agreement with God they both were thrown out of the garden and paradise was lost. This was the first of many compromised agreements, rule, or resolution that would be broken by mankind.

The next compromise was made when Esau came in from hunting and was hungry. This hunger was so great that Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of stew. Esau compromised his birthright and was a despised man. This says something about the power of hunger and the effect it had on Esau and the effects it has on our world today.

Aaron made a deadly compromise when God told him to speak to the rock in the desert of Zin. But Aaron did not speak to the rock but instead struck the rock. This command God gave Aaron cost him not to enter into the promise land. This compromise also cost Aaron his life on the mountain of Hor where he died.

Here in this compromise we find a man called Samson that compromises his charter that God gave him. His charter was his long hair from whence his strength came. He told his wife Delilah the source of his strength and then lost his hair, strength, eyes and his life.

Next we have a man and woman called Ananias and Sapphira that conspired to tell a lie. Ananias and Sapphira had sold some property and instead of bringing all of their profit to Peter for an offering they kept back some of the money for themselves. This lie they told was not only to Peter but was to God also. So for them compromising their honesty it cost both of them their life.

Then a man called Daniel who refused to compromise anything.

First Daniel and his friends refused to eat of the king’s meat. Daniel had refused to eat the king’s meat because he had purposed in his heat not to defile himself. This uncompromised purpose to refuse this request from the king took courage. For this courage of not compromising his standards Daniel was able to prove that the food of the king was not healthy for the men to eat. Instead Daniel and his friends ate vegetables and were healthier and stronger. This convinced the king to stop making his men to eat meat. This decision and uncompromising standard not only took courage but also took conviction, confidence, consistency and courtesy to respect demands make on him but still stand up for what he believed.

Daniel was honored by God for his uncompromised belief by having an impact on his friends and blessing them with a healthier physical appearance. (Daniel 1:15)

God also honored Daniel and his friends by giving them intelligence. After Daniel and his friends were proven fit they were also proven to be more skillful in knowledge, literature and wisdom. (Daniel 1:17).

God also honored Daniel with insight so that he was able to interpret dreams, visions, and understand their meanings. (Daniel 1:17).

God also honored Daniel the ability to influence people. Because Daniel and his friends made such an influence on the king that they became advisors to the king. Shortly after that king died another king made Daniel a ruler over governors and wise men of Babylon.

Now that I have gave you some examples of what happens to people who compromise and those who do not compromise you may want to think next time before you act.
