I Want It!
Wanting things that you know are harmful for your spiritual life bring big problems along. We could even hurt the people we love.
You want that, you want this, even if you don’t know what you’re looking for, you want it. You make yourself think you deserve it, even if it’s not good for you. At the time you know you can’t get it, you start doing things to reach it. For example: a new computer. You obviously start saving money, and you know you don’t need it, but you still regret about it. Now in the other side, if you would be earning for a better bible, that is correct. But, in another way, earning for a computer that you will use in business, this would help you get a better rank in your job. Be courageous, aim first at your priorities. At the ending I’ll have a shorter and better explanation of this.
And, if you don’t think that wanting things that harm you don’t does nothing to your family, and people you love, read this real life story.
There was a college girl, she was twenty-two years old, she had a very strong relation with God and her parents, but the rest of her family were always asking her: “Hey when will you get your boyfriend?” She always said: “No, in the future. “Hey, and you don’t like boys in college?” She said studies are her priority. She was so mad when people made those types of conversations, that then she said she needed a boyfriend. She started looking for boys, until she found the most “popular” and he asked her if they could hang out. “Let’s go at 10” He said, but she said no, that’s very late. They agreed at 6. When they were in the car, the boy told her to drink, she drank, and she became unconscious, when she “waked up”, she looked at her watch. It was 1 am. Her parents asked were was their daughter, so they went and looked for her. She said the boy to leave her at her house, he said no, but then she said him a million times, he agreed. He went very fast, he started speeding, but the girl said: “Be careful! We can crash with other cars!” The boy said: “Don’t worry its fun!” They crashed with another car, the girl then opened her eyes and appeared at a hospital. The doctor told her that her boyfriend died. She asked the doctor for the other people in the car. The doctor said they were a couple; they have a very serious condition. The girl said: “Make me a favor, tell the couple I’m sorry, I disobeyed my parents.” They doctor went but came later very fast. The girl said the doctor why didn’t he tell the couple she is sorry. The doctor said: “I couldn’t…” She asked why. “I couldn’t because the couple you crashed with were your parents… they just died.”
Wanting borrowed objects, is that normal? Ha! Tell me if someone borrowed you something and you haven’t returned it… That is a really common thing between people. But you have to know that hiding things from people is also stealing. And stealing is a sin.
Here is a biblical story related to the theme. Read until the story finishes. Joseph 6:8.this story is very interesting, someone had taken some valuable items that aren’t his, and God separated from his army. At last he was killed with his wife and kids, which had never to do with his stealing.
What is the first thing you do when someone throws a paper to your eyes? You blink. You have to take care from the sins as you blink. Whenever you see the sin, go away from it! Go away as fast as you blink!
Did you understand? Well, wanting things you don’t need or that will harm you may harm not just you, also the people you love.
