Everyone of us wants to go to heaven because we don’t want to suffer in hell. But I have learned that it is not by my good works that I can go to heaven. Even though I do a lot of good things for the people does not qualify me to go to heaven. My good works and my good attitude is not the ticket to heaven. Even my education cannot be my passport to heaven. Religion is not also preached here for I also find that religion cannot get you to heaven. I know it’s not only me who hears about this. So if I don’t go to heaven, it means, I will go to hell, where the fire never ends and I will feel its unbearable pain everyday. so if I die today, it means I dont know what will happen to me.
If you have asked me this question many, many years ago, I wouldn’t really know the answer what will happen to me should death comes my way. I have been very selfish, insecure and afraid because of my rejection issues of the past. Yes, I looked like a good person, but inside I was rotting… But as years passed by, I realized that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved and have that inner peace that each of us are longing for. it is because of Him that we can live and and be with Him eternally. I have read it in John 14:6 that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. So it means, my good works, my education or even my religion cannot bring me to heaven.
If i die today, I know now where I am going. I know what will happen to me after that. Because God promised me eternal life once I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. His salvation is a free gift to all of us, we only need to accept this gift.
