Being a fire fighter for twenty three years I have seen a lot of death, destruction and many natural disasters. But out of all of these the recent remembrance of 9/11 makes me want to look into the future. Now if you think all these events were life changing events you haven’t seen anything yet. Just think back to any event that affected a mass amount of people. Well you remember that either during the event or after the event people were looting homes and business .They were taking anything they could get their hands on and it was total chaos. This is what it was like during and after hurricane Katrina made land fall August 29 2005. I don’t know what goes through a person’s mind to cause them to act uncivil or have total disregard for the law. But like the title says if you think hurricanes and floods are bad these events are just a taste of what the future brings.
The bible is like a history book it is also a book about things present and things to come. Scientist and liberals have attempted to prove the bible wrong but none have been successful. So today’s topic is on the end of this world as we know it today. The end of this world is seen in the book of revelation in the bible. That is why this last book in the bible is called revelation because it was written to reveal the future. If you look in revelation chapter 8:7-13 it is very descriptive of things to come. It starts by mentioning hail, fire, blood, death and destruction just in the first three verses. Then in verses 10-13 things start falling from the sky just like Chicken Little was saying as he ran through the town. The sky is falling the sky is falling and on this day in the future the sky will be falling. Then verse 13 ends by saying which are yet to sound. Chapter 8 of revelation was just the beginning of the end of this world. After reading the end of this chapter look on to chapter 9 of revelation and while you are reading just think of the title of this article. Continue reading and see how bad things will get before the very end of this world as we know it.

Darrel, you left me hanging. You gave a theologically vivid depiction of the future, but what are my options? How would one avoid witnessing such hail, fire, and falling sky? If you’re going to preach the sermon, go ahead and give an altar call, too. :^) Gene
