Modern times are not like back in the old day. Many people forgot, or don’t even know about the ten laws of the land. Many people claim they are Christian but, they do not even know the first lines in the Bible. This articles’ topic is strictly interpreting The Ten Commandments.

“In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.”

1. You shall not have no other God before me.

This means, there is only one God. The others are Fake. Your God, the Lord, is the only one you should worship. Do not idol anyone at all.

2. You shall not make yourself a carved image.

Do not have a sculpture made of yourself, or anyone else. It is a symbol of idolism. It is like you idol yourself.

3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God, in vain .His name is vain.

Do not shout the Lords name for no reason. People do it all the time. They say, “oh, Lord!” or “God!” It is like yelling at The Holy Spirit. It is the same as cursing. Vain means; pointless, unsuccessful, or disrespectful.

4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

The Sabbath is Sunday. God set aside that day to not work. Most people work anyway but,.. How the world is, no one cares. Sad to say. Money has taken over all means of living in most people. Sunday should be a day of worship and only that.

5. Honor your father and you mother.

They brought you to this world. You should pay respects to them. You owe then you life. Be happy to have a life beside wishing you’d die.

6. You shall not murder.

This is self-explanatory. This is the most obeyed law of the land. A life should be the most important thing in the world. It is more important than money, education, and your own. A life should be saved with all costs. Taking a life is the most horrible thing you could ever do.

7.You shall not commit adultery.

Do not cheat on your spouse. If you are married you should only have sex with your spouse. Do not even think of having sex with anyone else. It is wrong, and the most common law broken.

8. You shall not steal.

Having something, and earning something are completely two different definitions. You can have something even though you did not earn it, and you can earn something by gratitude. Stealing is a crime. The smallest thing stolen is a sin. Here is a story I heard a while back. “A mother sent here children to the store to buy some candy. They went. They paid for their items and left. On their way back home, they noticed that the clerk gave them a penny too much back in change. They were happy and could not wait to tell their mother. When they got home they told her, “Mother the clerk gave us a penny too much. Can we have it?“ The mother said, “What? Why did you not return it?” The kids did not think it was a big deal. Immediately, the mother made then go back to the store and return the penny. She made then apologize and tell the clerk that it will never happen again.” This story is from back in the day. Money was worth a whole lot more.

9.You shall not bear false witnesses against your neighbor.

Basically this means, do not lie. Lying is wrong you learned that when you first told a lie. We have been taught to be truthful.

10. You shall not covet your neighbors’ house.

Covet means to want something dearly. Be happy with what you have. Do not wish for something. Wait for it to come to you. Wanting something that somebody else has often creates jealousy and is most likely to carry out to breaking the other Commandments.

I hope this Interpretation of the Ten Commandments help you with your understanding. To read my other articles click here. I write of all sorts of topics like; health, politics, video gaming, money making ideas, and short stories. Enjoy!
