Investigating The Miraculous: God Miraculously Heals Son Accidently Ran Over by His Dad

Imagine the horror of driving over your own child leaving him with injuries doctors would state there is little chance of recovery from. Imagine the pain your son would suffer, the thoughts of impending life disability or death, and the self-guilt that you would feel.

But now, look to Christ, the Healer as you watch the video in this article unfold and learn about some tools God expects us to use. If the embedded link does not open, copy and paste http://www.godvine.com/Dad-Accidentally-Runs-Over-his-Two-Sons-Miraculous-Outcome-432.html into the URL navigation bar in your browser and activate it.

As you saw and heard, the damage done to Thomas was more than the initial hospital could handle, so he was transferred to another facility. Doctors there were also skeptical of survival since his pelvis was broken in four places.

Of course, Kevin and Tiffany Burgess prayed. This is the first tool that God has given us that we see the Burgesses use. While some just pray when they encounter trouble, God intends for us to continually pray (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

The second tool to note is unity of prayer. By this I do not mean the “name it and claim it” error promoted by some. Often based upon verses like Matthew 18:19 and John 16:24, it ignores the hermeneutical principle (among other principles) that Scripture interprets Scripture and thus ignores or explains away verses like John 15:7 (note the first half), 1 John 5:14 and James 4:3. It also ignores the point that the sons (children) of God are to be led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14) and not their whims.

The unity of prayer in this video begins with Mrs. Burgess. Satan probably would enjoy for her to blame her husband, but she did not, praying for his healing along with that of Thomas’. This unity was later amplified by those attending their church. Pastor Mark Northcutt  noted the “whole sanctuary became a prayer room.”

People will pray in a Scriptural manner in those churches that teach the core elements of true Christianity. In any such assembly there are some close to God, others casually in the circle, and some not even saved. Will leave that last group out for the sake of simplicity in this illustration. Above is an image of rechargeable batteries. Each one alone has its own level of charge, some weak, but others strong. However, when placed in series (positive to negative) they have a cumulative charge greater than any single battery present.

So it is when true believers by the Holy Spirit unite in prayer. Just like we cannot see electricity with the naked eye, we cannot see spiritual forces with our fleshly eyes. We cannot see the faith within us that God has placed and nurtured. However, we can see the results.

There will be times we must “go it alone” in prayer, but whenever we can and as directed by the Holy Spirit we should seek out other true disciples for times of prayer where we need to have God’s miraculous hand in the matters of our life.

A true disciple is one who has surrendered, and continues to surrender, to God through Christ. I encourage you to join the team.

Notes:

The Lord willing, this is the third in a series of articles on some miracles of our time. In each case we are going to see through video a specific aspect of touching the throne of God through Christ. The first article was Investigating The Miraculous: Man Brought Back From Death When Doctor Prayed. Investigating the Miraculous: Child With Leukemia Healed.

The Lord willing, this article will be part of my Bible GemLight series as beryl004.

The miracles of God still happen today.

I can think of no more horrific tragedy for a family than for a child to be run over by a family member, like the recent tragedy in the family of Christian singer Stephen Curtis Chapman, where their youngest child was run over by her brother. What an incredible answer to prayer for this family to be spared this loss.
