Is Barack Obama the antichrist?

There has always been a lot of discussion about future events and the end of the world. Everybody wants to know what is coming and what will happen in the future. Future can seem very mysterious, even captivating. Some are frightened by the unknown; others are excited. All are intrigued by it.

One of the most pressing questions about the future has to do with the book of Revelation, at the end of the Bible. The Apostle John received a vision from God in which he saw future events unfold before him. In chapter thirteen, John saw a beast rise up out of the sea and, powered by Satan himself, he conquered the entire world. Virtually all of mankind will bow down before him and worship him. He is known most commonly as the antichrist. The Bible never actually says who the antichrist will be, so there has been a lot of speculation about his identity. This brings us to the all-important, increasingly-popular question: is Barack Obama the antichrist?

Let me give you the short answer: no. I’m sure that is not what some of you wanted to hear, but it is the truth. You see, the Bible does not tell us exactly who the antichrist will be, but it does give us a few clues about him. Let me share some of them with you.

In Daniel 11, the antichrist is described as a king. Verse 37 goes into more detail, however. It tells us that he will not “regard the God of his fathers”. God is capitalized, meaning Jehovah, the God of the Bible. Apparently, the antichrist’s “fathers”, or ancestors, worshipped Jehovah God. In other words, he will have Judeo-Christian heritage. This would include people such as Americans and Jews. Thus far, Obama would qualify.

Verse 37 also tells us that he will not “regard…the desire of women”. This means that he will not have physical relations with them, like normal men do. The two remaining options are that he will be a homosexual or a celibate. Either way, a person with a wife and family is automatically eliminated as a possible candidate. Obviously, Obama is disqualified right here, because he has, not only a wife, but two children as well. He is a family man, and thus, he cannot be the antichrist.

Let’s look a little further. II Thessalonians says in chapter two that the antichrist (”that Wicked”) will arise immediately following the departure of the Holy Spirit and all Chrisians at the rapture. Since the Christians are still here and the rapture has not yet occurred, it stands to reason that the antichrist has not yet been revealed. Here again, Obama does not meet the requirements.

Chapter seventeen of Revelation also gives us some insight to his character. It says that the antichrist “was, is not, and yet is”. In other words, he was alive, is dead, and yet is still waiting his time to come. This was written in AD 96, with the rest of the book of Revelation. The antichrist was already dead by the year AD 96, so anyone born after this date (like Obama) cannot be the antichrist. The same verse says that he will come up out of the pit (hell) and quickly rise to power for the seven years of tribulation.

These are just a few of the character traits the antichrist will possess. When you read the Bible, it becomes increasingly clear that Barack Obama does not meet the criteria. He is not the antichrist! I personally do not agree with his agenda or his political ambitions, but he is definitely not the antichrist. Don’t get caught up in the fads and phases of people today. Let’s look at what the Bible says, and forget about what people, who are all liars, say. Go with God’s Word, and you will never go wrong!
