Is The Economy Really Affecting The Whole Earth?

Are we being led by the events surrounding us or are we willing to take back our power as ambassadors of Christ and live in this earth valiantly, not afraid of every twist and turn of the circumstances which face us?

I recently saw this headline in an article written by a Christian organization.

The whole earth is feeling the effects of the economy…

Is that true? Is the whole earth feeling the effects of how the people of God are experiencing and handling the effects of the economy? Perhaps this is the whole earth groaning, waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Could it be that what is happening to the earth is more in the hands and control of the church than we realize?

The earth is able to bring forth increase at a word from the Lord. It is also able to dry up and wither at a word from the Lord. Consider the story of the fig tree (Matthew 21:19) which refused to give forth its fruit to Jesus when He required it. Even nature, though inclined toward a system of seasons, is still subject to the voice of God. That means that the word of God can interrupt the normal cycle of a tree. If this were not so, we would not be able to acknowledge or believe in miracles; for miracles interrupt the normal cycle of death and life as well as the natural flow of healing time, speeding up or slowing down whatever is necessary to effect the change. In creative miracles what was not there before is produced by the invisible, making the miracle visible and tangible.

I believe that it is exceedingly important that we, as believers of the Most High God; we, who are His Majestic Name in the earth, not leave our positions of authority in Christ and give in to the economy telling us how we are supposed to feel, to think or to make decisions.

The scripture tells us that when we watch the wind we will not sow and if we go by the way the clouds look we have no expectation or reaping.

He who watches the wind will not sow and he who looks at the clouds will not reap. Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones [are formed] in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things.] (Ecclesiastes 11:4-5)

It is time for the body of Christ to take back its power from the clutches of unbelief, fear and the dictates of the atmosphere of greed and poverty. The atmosphere is dependent on agreement. If we agree with what the atmosphere is telling (selling us) it retains its power to gather other “believers of fear.” When we go against the atmosphere, it may struggle for a while to hold its own, but it must relinquish its control into the hands of those who actually have the authority from the Creator who made the atmosphere.

Moses and the magicians both possessed staffs and the same power to turn their staffs into snakes. We get hung up with power. Everyone has power. Everyone has the ability to exercise their power. However, not everyone has the authority. Moses possessed authority from the God of the Power, thus causing the magicians’ snake to be eaten by Moses’ snake. And, not only was the magicians’ snake eaten, but he also lost the tool of his trade…he lost his staff, which was now consumed by the staff of Moses.
