Jesus: Drinker and Partier

Is it okay for Christians to drink and does Jesus really party in heaven?

Many modern day preachers proclaim Jesus likes to party and therefore as a follower of Christ we should do the same. Many Christians believe it is okay to drink wine or other alcohol as long as you do it in moderation. They cite the wedding in Cana as the reason for their belief. Jesus made wine and therefore he must have drunk wine and this is their justification for drinking.

Research has proven alcohol is a poison it affects the body because it is a poison. Symptoms such as slurred speech, blurred vision, unable to perform simple tasks and the inability to make good decisions or to think logically is the result of drinking poison.

A follower of Christ who believes it is okay to drink even in moderation is saying it is okay to poison yourself as long as you do it in moderation.

Jesus and the angels in heaven do rejoice and sing when someone repents of their sins. They have a celebration over every new follower of Christ. This does not imply they raise their wine glasses, take a swig and have a big party.

If it is true Jesus is a partier then every time someone makes a commitment to follow Christ heaven becomes one big party place. Jesus and the angels are drinking up a storm. By now they should be seriously drunk and totally oblivious. If the heavenly father is partying, Jesus is drinking and the Holy Spirit is pickled how do they have time to hear the prayers of individuals, care about what is going on in peoples lives or even have the ability to do anything to help them. They are having one big party and drinking themselves into oblivion.

The world is a violent place, women are raped, children are molested, lives are being destroyed by drugs, babies killed without the opportunity to live and Jesus and his angels sit in heaven and party, party, party! Those who believe Jesus is a partier when they pray to him what answer do they expect to get other than, “Have a drink it will make you feel better.” After all Jesus is just a party kind of guy and the world and it’s problems are just too serious for him to care about. How can anyone take this kind of Jesus seriously and believe he cares about anything but the next party and the next drink.

At the wedding in Cana it does not state Jesus drank any of the wine even though he made it. Those who believe he did must believe he partied right along with the other guests drinking wine, acting foolishly and suffering with a hangover the next day. What a wonderful example he was to those who followed him at that time. What a reason to follow him, he was just a party waiting to happen! If you believe this then you should just go out and party and drink and have a great time, because the Jesus you believe in did, so go and do the same. You can party along with the best of them and feel no shame or guilt over what you do. Every violent act resulting from drinking is therefore not a sin. Jesus dying on the cross was a big mistake and total waste of his life. His dying was needless and Christ followers should just party on. So party, party, party!
