Jesus Showed Us How We Would Die & Where We Should Go

Jesus came to this earth and was made flesh. Jesus spirit went back to God when he died on the cross.

Jesus came to this earth and was made flesh. (St. John 1:14) And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. We are now flesh too.

Jesus spirit went back to God when he died on the cross. Remember when he said in Luke 23:46, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. When we die, our spirit is going to leave our body too. The Bible said that when we are absent from the body, we are present with the Lord. “Therefore we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:6-8)

After Jesus died, his spirit rejoined his body and he appeared unto his disciples. However, it was strange that Jesus told Mary not to touch him because he was not yet ascended to his father (St. John 20:17). That is a mystery to me, but keep in mind that this is after his spirit rejoined his body. When he appeared to his disciples, the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews. Jesus stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you (verse 19). According to verse 27, Jesus still had the print of the nails in his hands and his disciple, Thomas, could reach and thrust into his side. So, Jesus was still flesh the way I understand it. He kept the print of the nails that were in his hands.

Jesus was also taken up and a cloud received him out of his disciples sight (Acts 1: 9).  Tow men stood by them in white apparel and told them that Jesus shall so come in like manner as they have seen him go into heaven (Verse 10-11). Those verses make me think about how we shall not all sleep. (1 Corinthians 15:51) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

If we study the scriptures, we can get the idea of how it all will be when we die. Keep your eyes on Christ. Heaven is where we should go when we die if we live according to God’s word and keep his commandments.

Amen! But if we are going to read and understand what the Bible says in John 6: 51 telling us that He is the living bread and those who eat that bread (not literally, meaning taking Him in as Lord and Savior), man shall live forever and in John 14:1-6, Jesus addressed His promise to “born again believers”, that He would go first and prepare a place for those who trust Him as Lord and Savior. Whether He as still in the flesh or not when Thomas confirmed the prints of the nails and the wound on His side, is a manifestation that indeed with God nothing is impossible. After all, Jesus is God born in the flesh to fulfill a prophecy for the redemption of sinners from eternal damnation. For those who reject Him, John 3:36 says that those who believeth not on Him shall not have life but God’s wrath will be upon them.
