Keeping Your Soul Silent

Through the Holy Spirit, God has made a way for a person’s inner being to walk in peace, to experience His Rest. Yet, it’s up to each individual to stand in Hope, while walking through the Storm.

KEEPING Y0UR SOUL SILENT

“Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation.” Psalms 62:1. As an individual who has placed their trust in God, through His Son, Jesus Christ; do you allow your Soul (conscience) to rest when you are facing your most difficult of times? For many, their minds run rampant, trying to figure out what to do, how to overcome, how to make the situation better. Yet, during this time of trouble, they find themselves falling deeper into a depressed State of Mind. Instead of making things better for themselves mentally, they are making things worst. Yes, as individuals we are to come up with a plan of attack for ourselves in all things; giving ourselves a direction to go, in overcoming the situation. Once this plan is mapped out from within, we are to then let go, and let God take over from there. (You never know what each day is going to bring, no matter what you plan; step out in what you know and God will do the rest. Even if you are going in the wrong direction, you still can be turned around; if you don’t step out, you can’t be turned around, you can’t be directed) As individuals we make the plans, but it is God who ends up Directing our steps, read Proverbs 3:5-7. Proverbs 16:9 reads as this, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord direct his steps.” God continually is looking over the Earth; to take care of those that belong to Him, to guide them daily, to lead them in all things, read 2nd Chronicles 16:9; Psalm 33:18.

Does your soul wait Patiently upon the Lord; does it wait Silently, not wavering in Faith, not wavering in Hope? Not complaining, or looking for excuses? (Do not let your feelings get the best of you) In order for your Soul to be Silent, waiting for God’s Deliverance – a certain Attitude must be in your Heart. Psalm 62:2 gives us the attitude we are to have, the expectations we are to have in the Lord, “He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” This verse reveals a certain mind set the believer is to have, a certain expectation. The person who wrote this, David, was established in God being his personal answer, when he knew his soul had to be silent. God alone was his Rock, his personal Foundation; there was nothing else that could be this Reality in his personal life – when it came down to surviving, there could be no other answer for his heart. God was his Defense, the One who protected him from his enemies, in ever situation. God was involved, truly active in his life; David literally had a certain expectation from the Lord; he was waiting for God to perform on his behalf. Psalms 27:13 reads as this, “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” As individuals we are not to be moved; though we may slip and fall in our Earthly Walk, in the end, we are to know that it is the Lord who has the final say. Like David, we are to lift our own-self up if it comes down to it, to continue this Experience called Life; we are to speak to ourselves about what the Lord has already fulfill on our behalf, at what He Promised still to do, read Psalms 130:5-6. (Sometimes other people are not going to be around to give you advice or comfort) This mind set, will keep your soul at peace, it will keep you silent before the Lord; as He works on your behalf. Ask yourself, can you say this about yourself; do you have this type of Expectation that keeps your inner being silent? Is there a sense of peace and rest with your thoughts; eliminating your worries and fears, your doubts?

Psalms 62:5-6 states, “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock, and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.” As an individual, do you say to yourself, “Soul, keep Still?” If not, then start; your mind can go crazy on you and if a person does not step back and see the situation for what it is, and then step out in Hope (which builds up the Faith with a plan), then they will stumble about spiritually. When possible, search the Old Testament and learn of the life of David, the King of Israel; and the Bloodline of the Messiah — who would save the World. Learn what it means to be a person after God’s Heart. God wants to literally be your life, your salvation. Can you claim God, to where your Stress is relieved; to where your soul is silent; to where you are always expecting, always waiting? Can you say that your Salvation is in Him, while standing on the Promises He wrote? Through His Promises, a person has their reason to be Silent in their Soul; it’s just a matter of how important the Word is in their personal life, how important the Promises are to them. God works according to His Promises and the heart of the individual, read 1st Samuel 7:3; Isaiah 55. (There are over 7,000 Promises to be lived on the Earth, allowing God to take care of the Individual Believer, read Deuteronomy 28:1-14)

Understand and Remember that God and the Word are One in the Same; God was the Word that became Flesh (Jesus) and walked among Mankind; along with the Holy Spirit, God reveals Himself to the Human Race, read John 1:1-14, 14-16; Genesis 1. Like water that can be seen and experienced in 3 different ways, yet for each way, it is still Water. (Liquid form, Ice form, Steam form – the foundation of the 3, is WATER) When the Scripture uses God in the Plural form in Genesis, for the creation of All Things; these 3, make up the Plural, “In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth”, read Genesis 1:1, 26-31, 2:7, 20-25.

Realize like David and tell yourself, “Soul, keep Silent”; base it on your expectations in the Lord through His Word and nothing else; let it not be of your own abilities or some other person’s (No telling who the Lord will use on your behalf); let it not be based on a certain situation. (God has a unlimited number of ways to fulfill one thing on your behalf) Let your expectation be only in the Lord; God may use a certain person or situation to work on your behalf, but your expectation is not to be in this. Read all of Psalms 62 when possible.

Wait on God and keep your Mind Silent, especially in the mist of a serious storm in your life. Life can be hard and God knows this, this is why He is trying to make things as bearable as possible. (Sometimes to make things better for us, we must face certain situations, go through certain things to have the victory – a diamond is formed through much pressure in the Earth. True peace for a human is formed in the same way) This is why God tells us not to think it strange when we are facing adversity; He wants us to keep our minds at Peace; to realize and understand that we are going through it, and for us to expect the reward from Him after walking the walk, read 1st Peter 4:12-13; Book of Job.

To conclude, “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalms 27:14. So, be of good courage in a Silent Manner from your Soul; for God will give you the strength to endure, in each and every situation.
