As we grew up, we were always told that if we work hard, we’d be able to get anything we want, right? Well, this is true, but if you are a true born gain believer all you’ve really got to do is make God happy and believe this, He WILL make you happy.
The Bible tells us that “the wealth of the wicked is stored [up] for the just.” So in other words, this tells me that I don’t even have to lift a finger to build my own house; God already has someone else hard at work on my behalf doing that already! Isn’t this something? I don’t have to work hard to have five cars–those five cars could be given to me! If this is my heart’s desire! Yet, I would not even look at the 5 cars as belonging to me–because the bible also says I am blessed to be a blessing! So whatever He blesses me with, I must see in a spiritual manner and know that none of it is really mine–no, it’s all God’s! He’s just letting me use it temporarily and then everytime I’m blessed with something else, pass on the last thing to whomever God lays it on my heart to pass it on to. Isn’t He just awesome? Wow!
Now folks, this is not to say don’t get your credit straightened out. We still have to do this! Why? Because it makes iteasier when blessings do come your way. Even though it’s true that your credit could be raggedy as all get out, God can still work a miracle and place you where others least expected you to ever be—He can do it now! But if you know you’re ina financail position to straighten your credit rating out, do it! It just makes you look good! You look like a greater candidate than the man or woman who’s credit is tore up form the floor up, you know?
But I woke up with the realization that, those of us who are in Christ, we’re supposed to be working at all times on pleasing God! Not pleasing ourselves or always trying to make our children or others happy all the time! No, we should be confident enough that our God, Jehovah-jireh our Provider, will provide our needs each and everytime. He may not give it to us when we want it all the time, but once you get to know Him, you’ll find He’s right on time, every time! And just to throw another ’stick’–think about this: since God is so willing to please us all the time, why can’t we be willing to please Him all the time? Who couldn’t agree with this?
So whatever we want–be it house, car, job, dog, etc., if we do our part to make Him happy, He has already promised us He will do His part to make us happy! So Saints, we’ve got to stop working hard to acquire material things–it’s already there, ready to be given–we’ve just got to trust in Jehovah-jireh! Amen.
