This is my news for Feb. 3rd.
MISS MARY’S RAMBLING NEWS
I sure love our weather at the moment. Even all the rain. At least it
isn’t snow. I hope everyone has been able to get out and about enjoying
the beautiful sunshine.
This week sadness has hit me very hard. My heart is full of pain at the
loss of two very dear friends. First on Friday the 27th. My beloved
friend Ivy Mavis Baker (Mam) passed away. She left behind one daughter
Sheila and 3 sons Denny (My dear friend) and Derrick and Richard. She
lost her son David (Dai) just a few months ago. They live in South Wales
over in the United Kingdom.
Then on Saturday My dear friend Isa Deaton from the Senior Center passed
away. She is survived by her husband Troy Deaton and several children
but I do not know all of her children’s names, I do know she will be
sadly missed at our Senior Center.
Please add the families of these two wonderful ladies to your prayer
list.
The following is this weeks prayer list. In no particular order I am
requesting prayers for my sister Vera LaVernne who lives in Mi. She is
in constant pain. My sister Georgia May who lives in Texas. Her health
is very fragile. Another friend from the center Arnold Halsey ( The
Candy Man ) who is still quite weak from all his treatments. Also Abner
Taulbee who was in hospital and rehab for quite a while. We really miss
him at the center. We don’t want to forget
Sam Wilson who is still in Cardinal Hill. They say he is beginning to
walk a bit. And last but not least I beg you to pray for my dear husband
Bob.
Do you ever wonder why gas is only 3.13 a gallon in Winchester and 3.49
in Campton? That is certainly a big difference in price.
On Wednesday Preacher Barry came to lead our church services at the
Senior Center. His service was very good as usual and the singing was
lovely. We had between twenty five or thirty people there. We have two
services a month. Brother Barry for one and Brother Shoemaker for the
other.
I hope you won’t mind that I keep reminding you of our Indoor Sale at
the Center. It will be April 6th. We plan to have some nice baked goods
as well as the rummage sale. Remember if you have anything to donate
please let us know or drop it off at the Center. All help will be
appreciated. Either donations or Buying.
I guess you could label me a beggar as I am also looking for any usable,
big or small exercise equipment to help Dena get our exercise classes
started. Another thing we could really use is a CD player for music
during our exercise games.
Boy was I sick on Friday and I did not feel well the rest of the
week-end but I was feeling well enough to go to the center on Monday.
Which reminds me. We need to add our Senior Center Director Dena to our
Prayers list. She came into the center on Monday and she was really
sick. She tried her best to stay out of the dining room and when she did
come in she stayed far from everybody. I felt so sorry for her. But she
kept right on working.
Every one take care and may God bless us all till we meet again right
here in one week. Mary Peck 668-7907
