A necessary ingredient to reversing your negative financial condition is to become wise at managing your money. The only source of true wisdom is from Almighty God and has been relayed to us in the bible. It contains the only principles that can truly prosper you: eternally and on earth (Psalm 111:10).
When you commit your ways to Jesus Christ, He will show you many bible verses that give you knowledge that is necessary to make positive financial changes in your life. Also, He imparts His Holy Spirit in you to give you understanding of what practices benefit you and your family the most: financially and otherwise (Proverbs 15:33).
Normally, knowledge precedes understanding which allows you to make wise financial decisions. Knowledge is being informed of something. Understanding is recognizing the meaning of information. Wisdom is making right decisions to govern your actions. Knowledge usually fuels understanding and understanding fuels wisdom, however in some instances you face the Holy Spirit gives direct revelation on how you should wisely respond to a situation (Proverbs 16:9). Rest assured that He will never conflict with biblical commands or with what is ultimately best for you. So, search the bible for God’s financial principles and you will surely alleviate your current problems and sidestep future ones (Luke 16:11).
Love for God and His lifestyle and financial principles is the beginning of wisdom because it opens the door for you to understand the massive amount of information that is directed at you from all corridors and this in turn allows you to make wise decision. Ultimately your desire to please the One you love and His power inside will lead you to make decisions that are truly a benefit to you and others.
Instead of being a person who consistently spends all your income, you will develop the discipline of Christ to be content with what you have been given and make the most of it through giving, saving and investing, and spending appropriate portions. The truth will be an armor to protect you and your family and help provide for you and others in good and bad times (Ephesians 6:14).
A person who trusts in the LORD learns to handle a matter wisely and will find good and be happy in life (Ephesians 5:15) because he continually cultivates a deeper relationship with the LORD through study and prayer and uses biblical principles to govern his affairs: contentment, patience, budgeting, tithing & offering, alms giving, debt elimination, debt-free living, saving and investing, vision, goals, and planning.
May God bless you richly as you follow His plan!
