My Testimony: Trials are Part of His Great Plan

James 1:2-4 (New International Version) states, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trial of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything”.

After I graduate from high school at Philippine Cultural High School, I decided to take a course of Hotel and Restaurant Management because I am not good in Math.  My aunts and uncles are furious about my decision.  They told me that it would be easy for me to find a job if I took a business related course.

I took two entrance examinations at College of Holy Spirit and San Sebastian College- Recolletos.  Fortunately, I passed their two examinations.  I wanted to study at College of Holy Spirit, but my father wanted me to go to San Sebastian College to study.  Therefore, I obeyed him instead.

I met some new friends at my new school.  I also studied very hard as I wanted to be part in the dean’s list.  However, I did not meet the school’s standard.  On the other hand, something is missing in my life.  My friends became my enemies as I did not feel comfortable with the school environment.  So, I decided to transfer to another school, which is Chiang Kai Shek College.  At Chiang Kai Shek College, I took Bachelor in Science of Commerce, Major in Management.  At first, I could not cope up with my studies, but I tried harder to get satisfactory grades.

I thought my life would not be the same, but I could not deny the fact that some people cannot be pleased so I felt like an outcast.  My friends invited me to a Bible study group that is conducted by the Youth Gospel Center so I found my real companionship in them.

When I became part of this group, I thought I would be accepted by other people but some people would like to discourage me or pull me down.  These were the certain trials in my life.  I believed that there lots of trials to face in the future.  God allows these trials to make me wiser and stronger because he wants me to survive.

To conclude this testimony, I promised myself to be optimistic.  I would ignore some unnecessary criticisms.  I would improve myself by turning my weaknesses into strengths.  By evaluating my skills, talents, interests, and personality, I would find the best career that suits me.
