My Wedding Day

What a glorious day it will be.

How wondrously lovely will be that great day, my wedding day. The day will come in which I have dreamt of, and it will be the most exciting and radiant day ever. He has promised to come rescue me and that we will be together forever. Planning is underway; my Bridegroom is preparing a place, and I’m readying myself for my Bridegroom. The time is approaching and there is much to do.

I have started on my dress as it will take awhile to get it just right. As of now, it’s rather dingy and torn in quite a few places. It’s tattered and wrinkled so I have to keep ironing it so it will be ready. When I first met my Bridegroom love filled my heart. His love consumed me as I was given this dress, this promise. He gave it to me for a specific purpose, it not only reminds me that I am His and forgiven, it reflects Him. As I am a work in progress, my dress has to be perfected in His love.

A Bride adorns herself with fine jewelry to look beautiful for her groom. So I will be sure to have upon me precious jewels, such as Faith, Hope, and Love. These are jewels sewn into my robe (my “dress”) which reflect His glory, so when others see me they know I am betrothed to He who is love. I desire to be beautiful before my Beloved, for as I am His, and my Beloved is mine.

Invitations must be sent out. Everyone I come into contact with must be invited to the Wedding. Speaking of it day in and day out, all must hear of the day that is in store. Telling of His goodness, I must sing His praises. Proper invitations I must present so when time comes they will be ready. I must let my Bridegroom shine through me so they will come to know Him and will be present on the glorious day; shining forth His Light so all may see the path to take.

When the day comes, heaven will open revealing a white horse whose rider is called Faithful and True (Rev. 19:11). I will see my Bridegroom face-to-face! What joy will fill my heart when I see Him just as I am seen of Him. With Him will be the Saints, including my loved ones from a lifetime ago. How happy I will be to be reunited with them! With our sins forgiven we know God in all His glory, for nothing at all will separate us from His Majesty. I will feel my “dress” become light, when before it was weighed down by my sins. With my transformation my “dress” shall become ever white, and the jewels will be as bright as the Son, for they reflect His glory as never before. Looking around I will see every soul washed clean as pure white, united together as the Bride of Christ.

When planning a marriage an important detail, perhaps the most important, is a place to live. My Bridegroom has promised a place where we will be together forever. My Jesus said “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.“ (John 14:2-3) A place of pure joy; a place in which He will never be out of my sight. I will never be out of His Presence! I love that thought! We will all be together in the Honeymoon that will last forever, worshipping the King of kings and Lord of lords as His perfect Bride.

So, people get ready… Jesus is coming for His Bride!
