One of President Obama’s newly appointed White House Advisory members, Harry Knox, called Pope Benedict XVI, and many Bishops “discredited leaders’ because of their opposition to same-sex marriage. The Catholic Church believes in marriage as a sacred covenant between a man and woman, and that it is immoral to be homosexual. The Church recently supported “Proposition 8′ – a successful campaign making same-sex marriages illegal and unconstitutional in the state of California. He also insulted the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic fraternal service organization, by telling reporters that they [Knights of Columbus] were “foot soldiers of an army of oppression’ for their role in the movement. If someone were to use bad language about homosexuals they’d be removed from the advisory group immediately. So why does the president allow insults to be thrown at religious groups?
