Perfect But Still Incomplete

God saved me from a sinful past, and gave me a future to live His way. Then He promised that I would never confront anything that I could not handle. That made me wonder, how does that work. This is a beginning of a conclusion, that on any day during any given event I am perfect to meet it face on. Being an incomplete work of God’s yet able to face life’s hardest challenges because He is with me. How awesome is that?

Why Road Kill.  Because so many of our personal thoughts are no better than that poor creature killed on our highways.  Perhaps you have a thought like that, and it should be ran over.

Opinions, everyone has them, are like advise.  Most of the time we need to keep our opinions to ourselves.  God’s Holy Bible is the only truth.  So if our opinions are not so based, we walk a dangerous path.  Today is the only perfect day we have.  God said nothing would come our way that we cannot handle—today.  So that means we are perfect for today, not tomorrow until tomorrow comes.  See the point?  Can we also assume that the world is in a perfect position to resolve its problems of today?  Now, understand we and the world are incomplete projects, imperfect, working toward perfection.  But for this one day we have all it will take to improve this one day, in ourselves or the world.  Your neighborhood, your city, state or national politics are perfect for today BUT they are not complete.  Paul tells us to be content in whatever state (situation) we find ourselves in—today.  What good does it do if all we see is the decay, the crookedness, the greed of our world?  If we see opportunity to improve and put action into motion, are we not better off?  We did not get to this point overnight, nor will we change it overnight.

My mother was a person who worried.  I think often about her wasted energy in this exercise.  If you can change a situation to the better, then do it.  If not, smell the roses.  Today may be all you have, so why not do something that pleases God?  Pray for those who are worse off than yourself, but don’t feel guilty it is not your fault they are poor, it is their choice.  Pray for our nation and the politics, then vote to change it to the good, when given the opportunity.  Remember always, God is in control.  You and I have the daily responsibility of determining the course of our individual lives, but God guides and directs the big picture.  I may not see where He is going, and if I judge it I may think He is doing it wrong.  So I do not question His judgment, I simply trust in it.  He has a perfect plan for your life, trust Him to execute this plan.  He has already told us that ‘we are to prosper as our soul prospers.’  Sounds like a good plan to me, so it is up to me to make sure my soul prospers, and worrying will not do it, will it?

You know, that applies to you non-Christians too.  God wants you to prosper, as your soul prospers.  Just look at the investment He has already made on your behalf.  Why, He sent His only begotten Son to die for your sins, so you could have life.  Don’t just stand there on the side of the road.  You either make a choice to accept Jesus or you just might as well be Road Kill.

Until next time,
Agape Jay
