There is this pattern throughout history, that to find and build a relationship with God we must endure extreme trials and tribulations. Believers can expect to suffer from their faith (2 Corinthians 6:3-13). “Why would I want to suffer,” you may ask yourself. Remember our lives here on Earth are as temporary as the flame of a burning candle wick. It is the hereafter we must concern ourselves with, because we can either believe in Heaven or in Hell and I don’t know of a single person who strives to receive admission into Hell. Though I’m sure there are some out there; but then the real question would be, “Why would you want to spend eternity burning?”
Every Christian knows and will attest to the fact that it is easy to talk to anyone about anything, eventhings that are inappropriate and offensive, much more so than it is to talk to anyone about God and His great gifts to us. Every night at around 9 p.m. and again at 10 p.m. we see news coverage of all sorts of evils taking place around our cities. From burglary to robbery and theft, from murder to sexual immoralities – this has become the norm and acceptable for public viewing. We must accept the fact that we need more positive in our society.
Some will protest the truth about God and debate His presence with nonsense (I have done this), “I don’t believe in God/Jesus… well just because.” Some will claim loyalty in friendship to you, until God has entered the relationship, “I can’t hang out with you because you believe in God.” Well, I can hang out with you because you don’t believe. Maybe those people feel it is too much to live up to; God came to Earth in human form, as Jesus, taking on all our feelings and emotions. He became as susceptible to sin as we all are, yet he did not sin. Jesus understands our struggles (John 15:18). And God gave us all the ability to suppress our feelings to be sin free, we just choose not to.
Our social motto is: If it feels good, do it! However, many look past the fact that knowing and obeying God’s Word feels better than any other thing on this Earth.
We all have the same ability to defy the world and deny sin as Jesus did! The way we live our day is the same way we live our lives. Meaning we cannot partake in sin and still claim to be living life the best we can. The Earth is in truth Satan’s playground, but God is strategically setting the board for ultimate victory! Also know that if you sin, confess and repent wholeheartedly and give that sin up it will be forgiven; but if you confess and repent from a sin just to go back the next weekend and partake again will not free you from that burden.
Look in John 14:6 where it reads that belief and trust in Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved. Receiving salvation means we must turn from our sins (Acts 2: 37-38). Isn’t it funny how we all realize the bad that we do before and even while we are doing them; and don’t you feel it deeper than your bones when you do good deeds, especially those for others?
I know where I’m going… What about you?
God bless those of you who’ve read it thus far. May He grant your prayers with the glory of His graciousness. I love you all and will speak to you again soon.
