Playing Not Playing

Major hurdles and problems in life are all mostly as a result of prayerlessness. Life will be wonderful if we’ll just learn to pray about everything.

Taking a look at this citation from the Bible, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results” – James 5:16, we have all been given a sure secret to having all our problems and difficulties go away and it is p r a y e r.

Problems hardly ever decrease or go away when we just stand and stare at them. We must pray for solutions to them and know what our heavenly father will answer because He Himself said, “Even before they finish praying to me, I will answer their prayers” (Isaiah 65:24 TEV).

We don’t have to be prayer ‘experts’ to pray. Prayer is discussion with God and we don’t have often more groans than word (John Bunyan).

Until we begin to pray we are playing with very important issues in life. “Open your mouths so wide”, wrote Charles Sprurgeon, “that He cannot fill it”. Go to Him now for more faith than the promise warrants. Venture it, risk it, out do the extenal if it is possible”. As Hallesby said, “Begin to realize more and more that prayer is the more important thing you do. You can use your time to no better advantage than to pray whenever you have an opportunity to do so, either alone or with others, while at work, while at rest, or while walking down the street, anywhere!”. Come on! It’s time to set the pace.
